Or does it also work with chords?** A: I'm not saying it won't work for chords but I don't think it does it very well, I think it's main priority is to create the illusion of a second guitarist for dual octave lead play. For about $50 more you can get a lexicon MX 200 that in my opinion does everything way better and it's not just a harmony pedal,it's a multi FX rackmount unit but it's lightweight and very simple to use. The harmony FX on it to me are much easier to use and sound a lot more correctly blended than the Boss Harmonist. You definitely get way way more for the money with the lexicon versus the boss,that is a promise. **Q: Should it go into the front of the amp, or into the Send/Return effects loop? Either way, should it be the first or last pedal in the chain?** A: Generally pitch shifters and harmonizers should go first in the chain to get the cleanest and purest signal from the guitar so that it can accurately process the signal and deliver the correct pitch. So I would put it into the front of the amp if that matters to you. However, running post overdrive/distortion can work too but it sounds different. Many say it sounds better that way, more like what harmonized leads would sound like if you used two actual guitars. So in this case, you would run it in the loop. Truth be told, the best judge is your ears. Try it both ways and see which one you prefer. **Q: Could you simulate a 12 string with this petal?** A: You can, but it sounds a bit processed, since most of Boss modulation pedals sound digital.
