Review: Track it all! - Right before Christmas, I received an email from Clever Fox Planner. I have purchased their planners in the past and loved them, and even though I don't use it anymore, I am still subscribed to their email list. This email introduced their new food tracker. They were having a BOGO sale: buy one planner from desertcart and they'd send you another one for free. (They did a similar promotion for their sticker book). Like many people, I am setting weight loss goals for the new year. My primary motivation behind it is my health and my longevity of life. Enter this food tracker. I spent some time last night setting it up. (Like many of my reviews that I write for brand new purchases, I will come back to edit them if anything changes or I discover something that will be helpful to others in deciding to make a purchase). Because this is such a new product for them, I wanted to give some insight to help future customers. The Clever Fox Food Journal is laid out much like their planners, including the same weight paper. (Don't expect any ghosting or bleeding on these pages; they won't. I use both Ink Joy and Flair pens in my planners & journals). MY STARTING POINT has fields for your name, weight and height as well as measurements and a beginning picture. I suppose you can choose to measure and keep track of whatever you choose, however they offer the following suggestions: neck, chest, bicep, waist, hips, thigh, and calf. For these measurements, there is a chart: "Where I am now" and "Target". In true Clever Fox fashion, at the bottom of the page, is a "Reward if Achieved" as well as a target date and a signature. Fancy! On the opposite page is a chance to document your why, how you will feel, and what steps you will take to achieve your goal. And then, the journal begins! It is an undated, daily 26 week journal. Each day, you track not only your breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks (as well as the time you eat them), but you can also track your weight, sleep, water, body fat%, caffeinated drinks (which they've weirdly abbreviated "caffein.") and fruits and vegetables. You can also track your mood for the day (designated by smiley faces), your energy, and your activity. You can also track if you're sugar free, gluten free, lactose free, alcohol free, and nicotine free (lots a tracking here, people! Lots of tracking!) As your tracking each food you eat (labeled "products"), you can also track serving size, calories, protein, fat, and carbs. At the very bottom of the page, you can tally every thing up "subtotal, total, vs target") I'm not sure what subtotal means, but I might use that field to put how much over or under on a macronutrient I was for the day. I'm not sure yet. The inside layout of the journal alternates from a muted dark teal to a muted forest green. I'm not sure why they chose that color, but it is easy on the eyes and calming. I like it. The journal comes with three pages of stickers. Some of the stickers are functional "calories burned", "___ g carbs" and some are motivational "No excuses, no complaints", "greatness takes time". The third sheet includes circle-style, minimalist stickers - "take medication", "track calories", "journal". I have to be honest - I was pretty stoked about the stickers (what Planner Babe doesn't like stickers, amiright?) But. There really isn't a lot of room to place them in the journal. I've placed some on the bottom near the totals. However, these stickers would be EXCELLENT in a planner to remind you to use the journal. (Clever Fox - please keep the stickers!) After the 26 weeks of daily pages, there is a measurement tracker where you can have a one-glance chart of your measurements including weight and body fat %. Opposite that is a page similar to the page at the beginning of the journal: the date, an after picture, final measurements, your target, whether the goal was achieved or not (check box) and a field to write how you can improve if you did NOT reach your goal. After that page is a 2-page spread of products for the five basic food groups (meats, dairy, grains, nuts, fruits & veggies) that you consume on a regular basis (your favorites, perhaps?) This would come in very handy if you were eating a real food and you didn't have a label to track serving size, calories, protein, fat, or carbs. It's also a great place to put some of your favorite foods. In the back of the journal are several grid dot pages (I count 31). This would be an excellent place to document how you're feeling about your journey. You could also use it for notes, shopping lists, those nifty stickers that don't quite fit in the daily grids... Pros: - fun colors with textured covered - layout helps achieve goals - daily tracking - "whole person" tracking (not just weight, but inches, mood, etc) - supports any diet/eating plan - 3 ribbon bookmarks - elastic strap to keep journal closed - elastic pen holder Cons: - no back pocket (I really love the back pocket in my Clever Fox planner so I can keep stickers with my planner. Since this journal combes with stickers, it would be nice to have a pocket to place them in. HOWEVER, since the journal stays closed well enough on it's own, I just use the elastic on the back, inside over to hold the stickers - problem solved!) Review: Perfect for those who count macros and not just calories 😌 - Okay so I didn't want to spend this much money on just a food planner but this is definitely worth it I look through so many food meal planners in almost all of them only wanted you to put how many calories you ate or not even that. this one has a place to put your weight your body fat percentage how much water you've drank how you feel that day your meal plan for each meal for each day and also to add up your protein your carbs your fat and your calories and the stickers that it comes with are pretty cute I got some extra ones to go with it because it's very therapeutic to deck it up with stickers LOL. I might actually buy a couple extra so I have these long term this is how every fitness journal should be made! I just going to believe how difficult it was to find a meal planner that included your macros macros are super important when you're trying to lose weight or gain muscle you need to keep track of those. even though weight loss all comes down to calories where your calories come from or also important to prevent health problems in the future to lower current health problems and to maintain the muscle that you have and without muscle even for women your body will lose body fat but it will also lose muscle and you will just look flabby in the long run. I'm so glad somebody actually knew what they were doing when they made this!

Worth the price! Better than expected!!!
To start, I love the color options. The book is very sturdy and only an inch or less thick. Perfect for a purse. The look is very discreet, so it doesn't stand out that it is a food journal. It blends in, like any other notebook. This is really important for me because I don't want to be obvious that I am tracking my food around in public. There are 6 months, 182 days to log your daily food intake. The charts and goals are so nice too. This was pretty similar to other food journals, but it is a very clean and organized look inside. It isn't too complicated. I am so excited to use it to track my food for my Keto Diet!!

Daily Food Diary
So far so good. The book is a hardcover and sturdy. You should be able to take it anywhere and able to put it into your tote/briefcase etc. without worrying about damage or page curling. The elastic band will keep it closed. I like the fact that it is not predated allowing flexibility. Like any new habit it is taking some getting used to logging everything but it is easy to use. I appreciate that there is a place for the time of the meals. Even the snack section has a place for the time. For me I snack throughout the day; I put the time before the name of the food. I am not a rah rah gold star sticker kind of person but if you are there are plenty of to stickers get you started. Update: I liked this enough to order a new one when the previous one was filled. The only negative for me is the lines are a little too light requiring the book to be in really good lighting to see them well.

Extremly Helpful Tool Along My Weightloss Journey
I am almost 2/3 of the way through my first pocket food journal and have seen more success with this coupled with google sheets than any mobile tracking app. The pocket size resembles the same size of my phone, making it easier for me to remember to bring it with me. I found when I was utilizing the apps on a mobile phone I would always be distracted by any notification that may come across my screen. The paper quality is great for those who may prefer felt tip pens or even markers, nice and thick but not bleed proof if you find yourself writing over mistakes. I plan to buy another one as soon as I have filled up this first one.

Meal tracker
This is a great tool to help me keep track & organized w/my food intake. This book was 💰well spent & completely satisfied w/my purchase. The only problem I have is the writing space which is on me, bc I write big! It serves its purpose!

meh. just meh.
So I'm a Clever Fox fan. I have had multiple different versions of their various different journals (ie planner, budget tracker, etc) so I decided to try this one out since my favorite food tracking planner by Kunista Co was out of stock. Though I really enjoy the other Clever Fox products, this one really didn't do it for me. PRO: Like all Clever Fox products, the journal is extremely well made. The pages are thick and there is no bleed through. The cover is super cute and reminds me of the Scribbles that Matter design and I love the many different color choices. There are a lot of pages and you can ideally use this one journal for six months of food logging and tracking. The included stickers are a nice inclusion and I like the pocket in the back of the book. CONs: I absolutely hate the design. Its very busy and gets confusing. Also, there is only a starting point and an ending point page. Six months is a long time and I feel like they need to break down the goals and have multiple check in pages to break it up (like a monthly check in tracker or even one at the 3 month half way mark). The daily tracking pages just become a thick wall of tracking pages and I hate that. Overall, due to the design and lack of multiple long term and short term goal tracking pages, I was not compelled at all to track anything in the book which defeats the purpose. This set up might work for some but it didnt work for me. I much prefer the spiral bound, 3 month Kunista Co Food and Wellness Journal.

Great Food Journal!
Love this journal! Has everything I need to track my food habits, set goals and track progress. Love that it includes three page savers, stickers and a spot for my pen. Highly recommend!

Exactly what I needed
I wasn’t sure at first due to the price but I’m so glad that I did. It’s a great diary to help you follow a healthy eating plan. You’re able to workout all of the nutrition information separately such as carbs, fat, protein and calories on each page for each day for each meal and any snacks. There is also space for you to add your own. Also on each page you have water intake, weight, body fat, mood, caffeinated drinks and space for you to monitor your five a day. I’ve had it for a month now and it’s helping me so much. Plus it’s for six months so worth the price. It’s not just about the daily diary though there are also blank pages for anything you like. Nutrition info pages for your favourite foods that’s organised into different food groups and pages for your progress such as weight and measurements. Plus some fab stickers to help brighten it up which is a lovely touch. The only negative if I had to find one is I wish there were more stickers as I love using them and although some of them aren’t relevant to me such as mediation stickers etc I will probably purchase more as you can buy a set of these separately. I have the forest green one which is a lovely colour
