Review: Great pictures, very informative on Nordic cultures. - I have one book for myself, but gave a copy as a Xmas present to my in-laws. This book is more than a recepy book, it's also a great source of cultural information on the different Nordic countries. A very sweet touch is the fact that all the dishes' names are also written in the original language of the country the recepy is from. Review: Absolute Best - and Most Accessible - Scandinavian Cookbook - I spent some time delving into a multitude of Swedish and generally Scandinavian cookbooks I preparation of cooking a special smorgasbord feast to honor my in-lawsโ 50th wedding anniversary. By far, this cookbook was the most well presented, most accessible, and most comprehensive cookbook for both special occasion and midweek meals. I spent time looking and cooking from both Aquavit and The Swedish Table too for the event, but Fire + Ice was the one cookbook I ended up purchasing and continuing to enjoy. Bright flavors for both summer and winter. It is a wonderful addition to my cookbook collection.
