Perfect Boba. Order these.
I hardly ever rate my purchases, much less write reviews, but this is an impressive product. I got my daughter a boba tea kit for Christmas, but the pearls werenโt very good. They were crumbling into bits and pieces which turned into mush. So I read reviews on Amazon to find some real boba pearls to try. These are gorgeous. Theyโre perfectly round, and I didnโt see any crumbs or broken pieces. They fluffed up beautifully.Itโs not true that theyโre โready in 5 minutesโ. They need to come to a boil, rise to the top, and then simmer for 5-10 minutes. Then they need to sit in the pot with the heat off and a lid on for another ten minutes. Then they need a cold rinse, and if you want them to taste like they do in the shops, they need to soak in a syrup for a while, otherwise theyโll be flavorless. Getting cold gives them their trademark chewiness, so the longer they soak in the syrup, the better.I found a recipe for brown sugar syrup (just equal parts brown sugar and water, simmered until reduced) and I added a teaspoon of vanilla and a tablespoon of molasses to mine. DIVINE. Dump your rinsed pearls into this syrup and let soak for at least 2-3 hours. Make a pitcher of strong black tea and make sure you have half-and-half, and youโll have everything ready to make quick, decent boba teas at home.

Perfect for boba at home!
This product arrived on time and as described. This worked out well for my family. They had never had boba tea, and there is absolutely nowhere in our area to get it. So, I took matters into my own hands, learned how to make it and made it for them. I chose a hot summer day knowing they would appreciate some sustenance and refreshments. It was the perfect answer to both issues. The boba was easy to prepare and turned out perfectly, soft but chewy in the ice cold milk tea. I went ahead and ordered a couple more packages because it worked out so well the first time. Definitely recommend this product!

Just Like in the Boba Tea Shops!
I love boba tea, but not only is it expensive, there aren't any shops near me. Rather than driving 20 minutes or more and paying a fortune, I decided to try these. They are exactly like the ones I like in the tea shops!I add two heaping tablespoons of brown sugar to the water when I boil them, which makes them taste exactly like the ones I've gotten at my favorite tea places. Would highly recommend this; although these do have a coating on them, that mainly helps keep them from clumping together once you refrigerate the uncooked ones after you open the package. I don't think that would give them enough sweetness without adding some sugar to the water, especially since I use plain green tea for mine, and not any kind of flavored teas or milk.I got at least a dozen glasses of boba tea out of each package of these. Even though it took a few minutes of my time, it wasn't nearly as long as it would have taken to drive somewhere to buy tea, and it was far more economical. Now I can have a nice boba tea (or, let's face it; a few!) for my afternoon snack instead of something else.

Front of package says "ready in 5 minutes", instructions on back says 30-40 minutes
As the photos indicate, the listing even said ready in 5 minutes. However, once I got the product and read the directions, it takes much longer.1. Bring water to boil (5 min)2. Add boba and stir gently nonstop until all the boba float (8-10 min)3. When the pearls float, turn heat to low and continue to cook for (5-10 min)4. Turn off the heat and keep lid on for another (10 min)5. Remove boba from pot and raise it in cold water to achieve chewiness (5 min)This is why no photo of the back of the package is provided on purposeBrown sugar flavor, but there is 0 sugars if we are going by the nutritional facts.ยกUpdate! The calories and carbs on the listing are different than what's on the actual package. It also says made in China. Which isn't necessarily a problem, but I'm more worried about that being the reason that the nutritional info is incorrect. It could be the person who translated the packaging didn't correctly write it down. We don't know what's actually in this. But I made a batch of Boba and the next morning had extreme GI distress.
