This is the perfect pen. Especially for notebooks. I love how Pilot rolling ball v5's write, and I even like their Uniball counterparts. But they bleed! I have a careful, slow, hard-press script, and the result is my next page riddled with dots. Not only that, but the backside of the page is useless. Not with the Acroball! They write just as smooth, but without the scratching sensation of inkpoint/roller ball, so it glides very smoothly, almost liquid-like, and that took some getting used to. Once I did though, I preferred it. Additionally, zero bleed. Zero bleed and less imprint since I instinctively write more softly thanks to the traditional ballpoint. But the ink isn't the gooey traditional ballpoint ink at all! It's like a gel pen, but without the paintstroke effect! I'll never go back to liquid inks. Compared to an old fashioned ballpoint, you might notice an ever so slight blot at the tops of your loops. But if you're coming from a wetter ink (such as in rolling ball or felt-tip) then you'll notice far less blot. I love these pens. Can't fathom why after buying 6 different pens and 3 different retailers I never found these, but whatever. Amazon to the rescue. The perfect hybrid pen, the best pen I've ever written with. Nice sturdy housing, good clip, and good clicking mechanism. The only thing I'd love to see someday is a capped version that doesn't have the torpedo/presidente shape. I prefer the streamlined, straighter shape of the V5, and especially without the silicone grip, which to me feels sticky even when new. But this is preference, and in no way detracts from the functionality of this most functional pen. Highly recommended. My uses: Long-format math, page pollution, doodling, extensive note taking, editing, grading, jotting notes. My mediums: Post-It brand posties, OfficeMax brand 3x5s, Moleskine Graph, Moleskin Plain, Decomp Soy Composition Notebooks, Various others. Haven't found something yet that these pens won't write splendidly on.

Nothing spectacular in the design, but writing is fluidic. Slightly overpriced item that may be overlooked in favour of it's easy grip and ink quality.

I REALLY like this pen. Black. Medium. Smooth. I have used Fisher Space pens for many years. I tried the G2. This Acroball is the best of both. Half ballpoint, half gel. A true hybrid. I have several people at work now hooked on these. The 1.0 medium in my opinion is the best. It's a nice line without being too thick or too thin. Perfectly balanced. The .07 feels a bit scratchy on paper to me. I also liked the Jet Stream however the Acroball is a better pen for me. It's what I'm spending my money on.
