Great fit for small ears and still block noise
I recently decided to properly try out different earplugs so I wouldn't murder my next door neighbor for falling asleep with the TV blasting YET AGAIN. I'm a petite woman with apparently very small ear canals-- I can only stand to wear earbuds in the small size, and if I wear those for more than a couple hours my ears get sore. So I tried a few different types of earplugs: these Mack slim fits, the regular sized Mack ultrasofts, and the Mack pillow soft silicone putty earplugs. The ultrasoft earplugs hadn't even expanded back to their full size before the pressure in my ear canals became uncomfortable, and they were also too long in length for me to sleep on my side. The silicone earplugs worked well to drown out noise (since they mold to your ear's external shape) but unsurprisingly stuck to my hair and pillowcase and pulled themselves out in the middle of the night. These Mack slimfits are significantly narrower and also shorter than the regular size, and still block out a fair amount of noise. With them in, I can't hear my neighbor's TV sounds through the wall, I can't hear my boyfriend snoring next to me, I'll wake up in the morning and the earplugs are still in place, and my ear canals won't hurt. They can also be reused several times before they stop rebounding after they're compressed. Highly recommend for other people with small sensitive ears and loud neighbors!

If you're flying or using public transit, you need these!
This was a lifesaver throughout my Europe backpacking trip. I am now used to a certain standard of comfort in airports and hostels and anywhere else I might need to dampen the sound level. These are comfortable enough to sleep with all night (normal earplugs usually make my ears sore after a while) and stay in place. I love the little travel container it comes with, makes it easy to toss in my purse or bag. Whether it's taking a nap or sleeping overnight in an airport, these block out the jarring blare of intercom announcements and most of the general noise so that you can sleep comfortably without missing out on important announcements. As it says on the box, it keeps a certain amount of decibels out of your ear so it doesn't block everything, just most things and softens loud noises. I would say they decrease noise by 50-75%, which is perfect for airports/airplanes when you need to hear boarding calls or the flight attendant asking you a question. I never realized how noisy the actual flights are and will never board an airplane again without my handy earplugs to read or sleep or just block out the token sick passenger or anxious baby in the row behind me.

Good for light sleeping apartment dwellers
I have been using Home Depot brand orange earplugs for years when I have trouble sleeping because of noisy neighbors, or if I want to sleep with the window open, but if I wear earplugs for more than one night, my ear canals start to hurt because the earplugs are too wide. So I got these because they are supposed to be narrower. They are indeed narrower, and don't hurt my ears nearly as much. I still have a little pain just because I just now switched to these earplugs, so we will have to see if these cause me pain over time. My old earplugs have a 32 decibel rating, and these have a lower rating, but I don't hear a noticeable difference. For reference, I can very quietly hear my small desk fan across the room, me shutting my bedroom door, or the toilet flush or sink water run if I go to the bathroom during the night. But I don't hear my upstairs neighbors clomping around, that one dog in the community that barks all night, street noises from the road nearby, or people talking outside as they walk past. And since I sleep alone that's all that bothers me. I wouldn't be able to tell you how it would work if I had a partner who was snoring or something like that. But for a single apartment dweller, they work fine. I don't think I would recommend them for work with heavy machinery or power tools, and probably not for concerts either. I'll have to test it out the next time I go to a concert. I have not had the fit issues other reviewers have had. The earplug goes in easily and stays put. They seem to be shorter than my old earplugs so they don't go into my ear as deep as I would expect. I would definitely recommend these if normal earplugs hurt your ears over time, and definitely if you sleep with earplugs.

Definitely worth the money!
I've used ear plugs for years...partly because of a snoring husband and partly for sleeping through days to work nights. I used to use silly putty, until some of it dripped onto my eardrum and I had to visit the ER (down the hall from the lab where I worked) to have the doctor clean it off so I could hear again. Then I started cutting off the tips of earplugs and then putting silly putty on top of that, but even so I would wake up with my ear canal aching. I've looked for children's sized ear plugs, but honestly they didn't look much smaller than what I was already using and I never saw anything like these in a store. When I came across this product online, I decided they were worth the risk. They really do work very well! I don't get the "airtight fit" from the other earplugs, but I also don't get the ear canal aches. They block out enough of the sound to allow me to stay asleep, but if someone is talking to me I can hear their voice (but not understand their words.) If you have narrow ear canals, you really should give these a shot!

Not perfect - don’t block noise thoroughly, but comfortable and work fairly well for me
Noise bugs me, probably a little more than the average person. We are about 300 feet from the 35 mph road we live on and the noise from what is probably considered fairly rural traffic to most can bother me. Trying to nap if someone is watching television in the next room? Not happening. Dog cleaning itself? Argh! My husband doesn’t get it, but I think factory and audio production work has blasted his eardrums into oblivion. So, several years ago, I bought these moldeable earplugs (I’ll list the URL for below). They are fabulous at blocking noise, but either the inside of my ears shrunk or the plastic on them expanded when they laid unused for a period - because they are now REALLY uncomfortable to try to sleep in. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00630ZA88/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I’ve tried to use the cylindrical basic yellow and orange earplugs my husband is given at his factory, but they pop out, even after rolling them up and squishing them. These are much softer and moderately thinner. No, they don’t block out all of the noise...but it does cut it down significantly for me. They are a tad long so I may cut a pair a bit and try that. At first, I thought they were performing somewhat poorly. Like the yellow/orange ones, I squished/rolled them up and placed them in. But, even though I thought they expanded quickly, I think it takes several minutes because after a while, they blocked more sound than they did initially.

Finally able to sleep!
Evidently I have small ear canals. I was never able to successfully use similar products bc I couldn’t get them down into my ears. These fit! Blocks out my snoring husband & neighbor’s barking dog. I take them on retreats as well in case of noisy roommates. Add an eye mask and you have undisturbed sleep! The only caveat is that these may cause you to sleep through your alarm clock - be sure you have it set to LOUD.

Perfect for small ear canals
I’ve used these for years. They are the only ear plugs that fit my small ear canals.

it helps a lot
I have very very small ear canals. Most ear buds don't fit and I can barely even put my own pinky finger inside. We live on the bottom floor where the upstairs neighbors noises shoot directly into our apartment, and the ceiling is literally like a drum head that just amplifies every noise. I use this in combination with my Sleep Easy white noise machine, and it is a perfect match! I work late, so I sleep in most the morning which is when I need it the most while our upstairs neighbors are awake and up & about at home all day starting at 6AM. PRO: it works CON: my ears are abnormally small, so I can only fit barely half of it inside, but they still help. When I wake up, my ears are kind of sore. Hopefully I get used to it. Considering getting custom plugs.

parfait
