Did I miss something in the add? I ordered an 84" and 48" rail with multiple accessories. BUT I did not receive any mounting hardware. Others?

Ridiculous that the mounting hardware is not included. This should be prominently mentioned in the description.

Can this only be used on finished walls or can you just attach it to the studs on unfinished walls as well? My garage isn't finished on the inside.

It would be fine either way. You can mount it on drywall or on exposed, unfinished walls. If you don't have finished walls, you might want to consider a large pegboard instead. It would fill up some wall space and may be nicer in the long run.

Is this system compatible with Rubbermaid shed?

This system is made to mount on any flat surface but I would be wary of how much weight you put on it, not for the rack but for the shed.

I love this so far, but what about some sort of end cap? Otherwise the spiders will be packed in there like sardines!

I'm sorry I do not know the answer to that. I have 4 rails installed (with no caps) and I have not had a problem with that
