You can't even lay down on the pillow without something being pulled. Poked or proded. **Q: Do you need to put any oil or anything if you're using these on dry hair? Also, do they only give the long curls as pictured?** A: No you do not have to apply anything to your hair, BUT for best results and perfect curls I suggest moisturizing the hair 1st or like I did u can use lotta body, this one has in coconut and Shea oil which is perfect ( bought it on Amazon)..... U can get both long and short curls depends on the way you wrap your hair around the rods.... Hope this helps..... P.s. I have in a weave and they curled my hair great.... My daughter has in braids n I curl her braids with the rods then dipped them into hot water... All turned out nicely... **Q: Is it good for long hair** A: They are! My hair falls to the middle of my back and these rods were able to do their intended job. If you have thick hair or your hair tends to hold on to water, you will probably have to wait a good while for the curl to be fully dry. That was the case for me. My hair was still slightly damp the next afternoon. I sprayed my hair all over with Joico heat protectant spray and used a blow drier to hurry the process. I was able to achieve great results. (Later, I purchased a smaller package of flexi-rods that were a lot longer in length, and I mixed them with this set. I loved the results.) **Q: is one pack enough for you if you have thick hair** A: NO. IT ISN’T ENOUGH FOR my hair.
