Perfect Replacement!
I purchased three of these replacement battery pack's for my controllers, that all seemed to die around the same time. The shipping was fast and on time, bubble wrapped and packaged nicely. The battery's came in a sealed plastic package along with a small precision Phillips screw driver and of course the battery. Most of the products made at a cheap price are made over seas and the quality control is lacking in some area. I try not to give the "installation guides" or "product print", that is poorly translated to Engrish, bad reviews. Come on people, its a $5 battery, what do you expect? The install of these can be a little tricky because it requires you to open the controller. There are plenty of how-to's on Utube. Install went great but it does take some skill, because the trigger buttons are spring loaded so if the case is completely pulled apart it wont "fly out" but will come off the fulcrum. The screw driver serves it's purpose but of course is made of cheap material causing it to strip out easily. Recommend a quality set of precision. Overall this is a great product, it works just like it should and even holds a charge longer than OEM. The mAh on factory I believe is 1k mAh where as these are 1200mAh, you can even get up to 1800 I believe. Higher mAh means better capacity but also more heat. The fitment was a little tight but worked perfectly, I used a small set of needle nose to remove OEM battery terminal. I do recommend that you let them all thoroughly charge before using to achieve the best results. It is going on two months now and they are holding up well, the run time has dropped a little (maybe 30min?) but its hardly noticeable, I would gladly buy these again to save myself over $100 for new controllers!! I give these a 5 Star rating, they work perfectly and are cheeeeap! I might be able to upload some pictures here soon, keep you posted.

It works; easy install.
My original PS3 controller wouldn't hold a charge most likely due to my using an aftermarket charging stand for storage rather than just charging. (Lesson learned: I only charge when needed now.) After purchasing the replacement battery, I received it in fairly short order and installed it without difficulty. No modifications or alterations were required to the controller case. Before using it for the first time, I let it charge for a full day and my controller has worked perfectly since.

Cheap and Works Great!
This battery is great for people who love long gaming sessions on the PS3. Although is wasn't what I needed to fix one of my older controllers, I popped the battery into another controller and have already experience twice as much battery life than with the standard OEM (original equipment manufacturer) battery. Be warned! Unless you know how to dismantle and reassemble a PS3 controller, do not do this by yourself. If you can, go on YouTube and check out some videos. Of course, I did not need to since I do this all the time but for novices or inexperienced users, do not do this without aid!

Great battery replacement for your Playstation 3 controller.
I purchased this battery to replace the internal battery of a PlayStation 3 controller. When the controller would function perfectly while plugged in, but wouldn't charge, I presumed that a dead battery was the problem. I first researched buying a replacement controller, but mine is white and the white PS3 controllers are no longer manufactured and are difficult to find. Thus began my search for a replacement battery. I ordered this from Amazon and two days later it was in my hands. I opened it and was pleased to find that a small screwdriver to be used to open the controller was included in the package. I watched a couple of YouTube videos on how to replace the battery and went to work. Once I had the controller apart, I gently unplugged the old battery and inserted the new one. Mine was exactly the same size as the old battery and fit perfectly. As the videos advise, be careful to avoid dislodging the triggers after you unscrew the controller and separate the two parts. If you do dislodge them (I did as I put the controller back together) don't despair, YouTube also has videos on how to easily fix that. After all was said and done, I have a controller that is good as new and a battery that recharges and keeps it charged for a very long time. I am very satisfied with my purchase and so pleased to avoid the loss of my white controller.

Disappointing.
The battery installed nicely and charged properly at first. Five days agoโfour days after the Amazon 30 day return period ended, unfortunatelyโit stopped taking a charge and the battery level for the controller has returned to reporting "--" in the PS3 UI. Disappointing.

Meh
I bought this forever ago and forgot to review it. It's ok...it fits in the controller, it charges fine, and has no problems with using it. But, I feel like it doesn't stay charged for very long at all, at least in comparison to a stock controller battery. I bought this to replace the battery in one of my controllers that was old a worn down and wouldn't hold a charge very long...and this helped but not as much as it should. Decent if you're looking for a quick fix, but I'd look elsewhere if possible.

Tomee brand [NOT dragonplus] - Battery runs out in a couple of hours
Everyone reporting bad batteries : Please, could you also state whether you bought it from Amazon, or one of the other sellers (that sell it cheaper)? There are a bunch of different random brands being sold under this same product number and it is very hard to make sense of the ratings. Noting the actual seller and brand name on the package would help others a lot. Thanks! For example, I bought from Amazon for 12, not from the market sellers, and got a TOMEE brand battery in a SEALED plastic RETAIL blister package, including a handy yellow screwdriver. Notice how the product picture here actually shows a "Dragonplus" brand. I have also seen this Tomee brand sold as Hyperkin. Other than this, the only brand that comes in a retail package I am aware of are Komodo KMD-P3-1710 (At Microcenter). The battery that I replaced from my (very old) ps3 controller says "LIP1359 570mAH" on it. Confirmed here: http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/DualShock_3#Li-Ion_.28Accupack.29 I have also found LIP1859 listed in some places, so that must be in the updated dualshock3. This one claims to be 1200mAH which is laughable, but so far seems to be working fine. I will update this and the rating in the future if it lasts. Actually, to make it consistent, I'd better create a basic template that every reviewer should follow. It should go first at the top before whatever you write in your actual review. In fact I wish every review of ANY kind of a third party replacement battery included this minimal information. With a collective effort to spread awareness, we can beat these fake battery scammers and expose them. 1. ACTUAL Seller's Name 2. Sealed RETAIL Package ? Yes/No 3. Brand Name* on package? Yes/No and state brand if it exists. 4. Claimed capacity (mAH). 5. Optional - Any extras in the package? Yes/No and describe if present 6. Optional - Update your review 6 months-1 year later to mention if the battery performs as well as the original did when it was new. Here, I'll start: ------------------ Amazon Yes Tomee 1200mAH Small yellow screwdriver ------------------- *Note that by Brand, I mean the actual brand printed on the battery. Not what the product listing says. Eg. "eforcity" is not a battery brand. They are just resellers of wholesale batteries, which is clear because I have always received loose batteries from them, not retail packages. However, if the battery comes in a sealed tamper proof retail package, then the brand name on the packaging is acceptable, even if the battery itself doesn't have it. **I was also going to include a Country of Manufacture in my template, but didn't bother since currently, there is only one country that manufactures anything. ***************Update after 10 months************** As promised, here is the update on this battery after 6+ months of use. No surprise, it is not even close to the OEM battery. My rough estimate is that the capacity appears to be less than half of the original battery. The low battery warning starts blinking within a couple of hours of use from fully charged. The funny thing is that the 5 year old half-dead original battery provides the same amount of play time, so this replacement battery is pretty much a joke. Depending on the lottery, you might receive a slightly better copy, and find somewhat longer runtimes, but keep in mind that it will degrade very rapidly (months) compared to the original one (years). Reducing my rating from 4 stars to 1. If anyone has a better experience with any other brands (Microcenter?), please leave a comment. At this point I conclude that it is cheaper to just buy a new DS3 for 30 dollars, instead of playing this lottery.

Bon produit

Just like described
It's a great replacement for a standard ps3 pad battery. It has larger capacity and doesn't cost much. Highly recommended, though changing it can be tricky.

Good but not the same
I had a controller that didn't charge since I put it to charge from USB hub. As such, I got this battery to check whether the problem was the battery or not (it wasn't). Now the problematic controller and this battery sit on a box and I got a new one. The battery seems to work fine. However it is not the exact same as the original one. It is missing the holders that keep the battery in place. This means it will move around inside the controller (although there is not much space for movement).
