This is a great concert on DVD. Aspen Miller singing the female lead in Paradise by the Dashboard Lights is simply astounding. I'd never heard of her before this but she's so good I took the effort to look up her career. The rest of the band is great and they really look like they're having a blast. It's a good DVD. If you're a Meatloaf fan you won't be disappointed.

Got here ASAP, can't wait to get time to watch it in my home theater.

Fabulous blu-ray video, great music. But does Meat Loaf REALLY need to have this disgusting wad of chewing gum is his mouth as he sings? You'd think at least they'd edit out the closeups. And he doesn't have the voice he used to. Having said that, though, the band and his backup singers are great and make this definitely worth getting if you're a fan

I love Meat Loaf and this is one of two live DVD's I own. I love this one cause it has music from Bat III on it and in my opinion that is the best of the three. He is a great entertainer and just as nice and fun in real life! Don't ever Stop Meat!!!

Although I have to say that the rest of the band was great (that's why I gave 3 stars), Meatloaf sounds awful! He overdramatizes his singing, comes in late on a lot of the verses and then holds note too long and is off key. I really wanted to enjoy this but I couldn't even watch it all. I turned it off about half through the show.

Great concert. The band and back up singer are amazing. Although Meatloaf is not in his vocal prime any more, he still sounds as good as to be expected.

I have been a fan for years. I find Meatloaf's songs so different to many artists. They are more mini operas instead of short songs which is what most music sounds like today. Not his best concert but like always he gives everything he has to the performance. Money well spent. I have listened to it several times since buying it.

El vendedor nos envió el DVD muy bien empaquetadito e incluso llegó como una semana antes de lo que me habían dicho cuando decidí comprarlo. Muy bien, todo superbien. El concierto es espectacular, yo no se si es el mejor de Meat Loaf ó no pero nos encantó. Justamente llegó un día de lluvia y despues de comer subimos al ático donde tenemos " nuestro pequeño cine particular " y en una televisión de 85 ", alli disfrutamos a tope de Meat Loaf - 3 Bats Live acompañdos de un café. Mucha gracias al vendedor por habernos dado tanta felicidad al tener este DVD en su tienda y nosotros poder haberlo adquirido. Maria.

Meat Loaf ist älter geworden, zum Zeitpunkt der DVD Aufzeichnung war er 59. Dementsprechend ist seine Stimme klarerweise anders als zu seinen jüngeren Zeiten - aber immer noch ganz gut und größtenteils sehr druckvoll (nur bei den Bat 3 Nummern "Bad For Good" und "Blind as a Bat" hat er wirklich sehr zu kämpfen). Was die DVD beim ersten Sehen aber etwas anstrengend macht, ist, dass Meat Loaf ständig an den originalen Gesangslinien links und rechts vorbeisingt. Beim zweiten Mal ansehen hatte ich mich daran gewöhnt, ab da war es ein Genuss. Was aber bis zum Schluss stört: bei Großaufnahmen (Gimme Shelter) bekommt einen etwas ungustiösen, tiefen Blick auf Meats Kaugummi (der zu seinen Ritualen gehört), der ihm in der Backe klebt und ihm die Zunge gelb verfärbt. Aber, Gesangsleistung hin oder her: eine solche 2 1/2 stündige Rockshow muss man erst einmal geboten bekommen. Meat pickt sich die besten (je nach Geschmack) Songs aus den 3 Bats Alben heraus und zelebriert sie mit seiner außergewöhnlichen Band. Besonders positiv für mich: es werden die Lieder nicht einfach nach CD gespielt, wie bei "modernen" Acts üblich, sondern in leicht umarrangierten Fassungen. Wie sagt der Keyboarder auf der Bonus DVD: was auf CD funktioniert, muss live nicht funktionieren. Zum Teil werden Lieder um Strophen gekürzt und dafür die instrumentalen Teile verlängert. Hier zeichnen sich besonders die Gitarristen und der Saxophonist aus. Toll auch die Gesangsleistungen der Bandmitglieder, auch wenn für mich Aspen Miller ein nicht ganz vollwertiger Ersatz für Patti Russo ist. Im Zugabenteil kommt Marion Raven auf die Bühne, die mit Meat Loaf das Duett "It's all coming back to me now" intoniert, super. Die Bonus DVD ist wirklich ein echter Bonus. Die 85 minütige Doku "In Search for Paradise" zeigt die Proben vor der Tournee und die amüsanten Probleme mit der Choreographie bei "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" und gibt recht tiefe Einblicke in die Seele Meats. Auch wird gezeigt, wie Meat Loaf körperlich alles gibt. So schleppt er sich wankend (aufgrund von Problemen mit seinen Ohren) bis zur Bühne, doch kaum auf der Bühne, ist das Alter vergessen und es wird alles gegeben. Beeindruckend, wie der Mann nach den Shows fix und fertig am Boden liegt. Weiters enthält die Bonus DVD eine 10 minütige Doku zur Erstellung der Bat 3 CD, auch interessant. Zusammenfassend ist dieses Package die 5 Sterne wert, auch wenn die Melbourne Show um einen Tick besser ist. Dafür ist bei der 3 Bats-DVD das Bonusmaterial wesentlich unterhaltsamer.
