Batteries are in and it does nothing?** A: Make sure the batteries are in correctly. When you pull the trigger you should hear a reving up sound before the bullets are released.The bullet cylendar has to be in with the head of the bullets facing the barrel. There isa definate sound to indicate that the gun is functioning. **Q: Would my 5 and 6 year old sons be able to use this well?** A: I bought it for my grandson who is 9 years old for Christmas......It is a pretty large size gun....May be little too big for a child 5 or 6 years old. **Q: How heavy is it? What kind of batteries do you need?** A: The weight is noticeable, but after carrying this thing for over three hours in a college-campus-wide Humans vs Zombies war, I can say that it's rather lightweight compared to other blasters so long as you keep the stock braced against your shoulder.
