"A very long time" doesn't tell me if it will be on when needed in a self defense situation.** A: I read an estimated year with a premium battery on the instructions. Mine has been on with no dimming for about 8 months. **Q: Does this have an auto on with movement and auto off when idle ?** A: The dot did go completely off in total darkness. I had it in my pocket holster (uncle Mikeys) and took it out in the dark and it was off until I put some light on. (My cell phone) I had the cover on the optic as well. **Q: How many hours of battery life?** A: A single Duracell CR2032 battery should last around a year. Make sure to put the rubber protective cover on when not in use. **Q: Will this fit glock 43x mos** A: It will if it has the appropriate mounting cut in the top. I have a Glock 43 with a Zaffiri slide that has an RMSc cut and this went on with very tight tolerances.
