## Overview

BED WELD Original is a scientifically engineered adhesive glue designed for heated glass 3D printer beds. Compatible with ABS, PLA, and PETG filaments, it provides a strong grip during printing to prevent warping and eliminates the need for rafts. Its thermal dynamic coating sticks when hot and releases when cooled, enabling easy part removal without damage. The fast-drying, low-odor, water-soluble formula applies cleanly with a no-mess foam tip applicator and lasts for multiple prints per application. Backed by a 90-day money-back guarantee, it’s the professional’s choice for reliable, hassle-free 3D printing.

## Description

Do you have trouble with parts warping or coming detached from the printer bed?Have you struggled with part removal after your print is finished?Introducing BED WELD - ORIGINAL™BED WELD was engineered to solve these challenges by enhancing your print surface so that it grabs hold of that critical first layer when your build surface is hot, and refuses to let go with its gecko like grip. In many cases you can often print without rafts or build plate adhesion layers, saving you time and material.Once your print is done the coating dynamically morphs as your printer bed cools, and releases its hold so you don't have to wrestle to get your part off.No more chipped glass or broken parts. In most cases, your part will fully detach without the need for tools. If your part does remain attached it normally takes just a simple lifting of a corner using the edge of a razor, and the part easily pops off.BED WELD comes with a unique applicator that makes applying the coating a simple no mess process. The coating dries quickly to form a thin film that is not sticky, so there is no risk of getting a clogged nozzle or having residue on your finished part.NOTE: The BED WELD coating was designed for use with heated build plates made from glass. It was optimized to work with PLA, ABS, PETG, and CPE filaments. BED WELD is not recommended for use with Nylon, PP, or TPU 95A. See image for compatibility summary.Applying to glass build plates that have Microporous coatings, or flexible magnetic beds, is not supported.Do not apply BED WELD directly to aluminum bed surfaces. First, place a layer of Kapton tape over the aluminum bed surface and apply BED WELD on top of the Kapton. When printing with ABS we recommend setting your bed temperature no higher than 80C.BED WELD is backed by an unconditional 90-Day money back manufacturers guarantee so you risk nothing!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will it work with ASA?**
A: It works with ASA. The other persons answer refers to it sticking too well, and having chunks taken out of their glass. In our experience, this can occur if you print at a hotter than recommended bed temp, if you don't let your bed fully cool before removing the part, or if you are using low quality soda lime glass instead of borosilicate. Example: For ABS we recommend printing at 80C and ASA at 100C. If you print ABS at 110C you can get extreme adhesion. We have encountered several printers that are set to 80C, but when measured with an external temp gun they are actually at 110-115C.

We once had a customer with a print farm of 80 printers. 40 of one printer brand and 40 were another brand printer. 20 printers of one brand were encountering extreme adhesion where the part was difficult to remove when cooled. BED WELD was working as expected on the other printers. The 20 printers that had issues were checked with an infrared temp gun and were over 110C when the printer was set to 80C. They reduced their printer temps to compensate and the extreme adhesion was no longer an issue.

If you print at the recommended bed temp, confirm your bed is actually at that temperature, and wait for the bed to cool, then you should not experience any difficulty removing the part. The parts normally release themselves from the bed, or with little effort.

If you accidentally print at too hot of a temperature, or if you encounter extreme adhesion, then we have an easy workaround posted on the FAQ page of our support site.

**Q: What's your recommended way to remove the residue from an empty bed?**
A: The easiest way to remove the coating from the bed is to rinse the build plate under warm water.

Using dish soap and a sponge should speed the process. Bed Weld is water soluble so it should come off easily.

If for some reason you have a printer where the bed can not be removed, then some customers have used isopropyl alcohol and paper towels to remove. If using isopropyl alcohol, we recommend using 99% IPA as we have seen some 70/30 IPA leave an invisible coating on the surface that can make Bed Weld more difficult to spread smoothly.

**Q: I don't understand why it has stopped working. It worked great for a week but now it looses adhesion mid way through the prints. Any suggestions?**
A: Make sure economy mode is turned "Off". We have started to see some printers that are shipping with an "Economy" mode enabled. Creality CR10's for example. This feature turns off the bed heater to conserve energy.

When the bed cools the coating is designed to release the part from the bed. It is critical to make sure that the bed stays at a constant temperature until the print is completed.

**Q: What happens if you print tpu on it? does it not stick at all or too well?**
A: TPU will stick well. Some people feel it works well with TPU.

The reason we state that it isn’t supported is because we still detect some corner lifting on some warp stress test that we perform on each filament type.

Our test are done without a brim so adding a brim may resolve the corner lifting on difficult parts.

Extreme adhesion should not happen with TPU. If you encounter extreme adhesion you can follow the tips in the user guide, or on our web faqs for an easy part removal method.

somehow for slightly larger print out around 100x100.. it still can hold it to the bed well.. however, for really large print such as about 200x200, for the prusa printer that we have, ABS still does not hold well on the corner for 200x200
