She is 7+ years old and that was the ONLY plush toy I had to buy for her until this Grizzly puppet. We had a house guest with a dog who ate off the eye on the old puppet and finally "killed it." Folkmanis was my absolute first choice for a new toy 7+ years later. My dog loves it (and the "Grizzly" looks eerily like my dog!) The fact that I use this puppet as a dog toy should in no way reflect badly on the puppet - it is soft, high quality, and surprisingly expressive. I know a child would enjoy watching it (though the Grizzly would be too big for a child under 8 or so to use it themselves). I actually enjoy playing with my dog with it because it is so comfortable yet padded enough that when she bites it, there's plenty of protection between her teeth and my hand.
