Smooth ride again in 2008 Lexus ES350
Smooth ride again in 2008 Lexus ES350 "MACEL 512206 512207 Set of 2 Rear Wheel Hub Bearing Assembly Fit for 05-12 Toyota Avalon..." 158,000 miles has taken its toll on our ES350. I did a big suspension maintenance job all at once. Front: Struts, both drive axles, hubs and hub bearings. Rear: Struts, hubs and hub bearings. This took about 10 hours between me and a skilled mechanic friend to do all these things. I rented the bearing removal/installation tool from O'Reilly Auto ($400 heavy duty version). Now our ES350 rides much smoother again. But the 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is more road noise coming from the rear than I would expect from brand new hub/bearings.

Installed and they howl worse than the ones they’re replacing
Have a cheap winter beater than had loud bearings in the rear, car was cheap and didnt want to spend a lot of money so I went through pads, rotors all 4 corners, front bearings I picked Moog and they have been fine, these were cheap so I figured what the heck if I get a year or two out of em thats good enough for me, put them in and the first trip down the road they are louder than the old bearings that needed to be replaced, they howl louder than a coon dog down wind of a landfill. Im running em, but I will be swapping them out, not looking forward to rework, that’s a pet operate but i guess you get what you pay for, I tried to cheap out and lesson learned on these. Amazon Chinese special got me, learn from my mistake, I thought about taking them out and sending back but the old ones were shot too, and I need the car tomorrow (Monday) and dont have time to pull em back out and go to one of the big box auto places to buy replacement. Try and stick to name brand, i thought id try causal its a beater I never would have for the family cruiser, but for a beater I thought I would roll the dice…rolled a loser!
