Surprising audio for the price. My priority was being able to hear what was going on around me and even being able to talk to people with them still in my ears. These have no isolation at all and it is easy to talk to others even with music playing. These earbuds fit the bill perfectly and really surprised me with the audio they provide. Like others say, there is a noticeable sub-bass drop off, but they do not sound tinny or shrill at all. They have a good balance with a bit of a rise in the mid-bass with clear mids that provide nice clarity for instruments. There is definitely a width and note of "air" in how these sound that I have not found in IEMs or closed over ear headphones. Highs are present with a bit of sparkle but don't sound particularly clean. I would say these are a "darker" sounding headphone. In that sense they are similar to the Koss porta-pro which are my usual go to headphone. Overall they sound much more like an open-back on ear headphone than an IEM. They fit large. I have average ears and they can become uncomfortable after an hour or so. I think for smaller ears they may be completely unusable so be aware. The cable is nice enough and does not transmit noise but tends to tangle a bit. The earbuds themselves are very plastic for lack of a better description. Very lightweight so they don't move too much. There is some flashing from the molding that I had to file down for comfort. The included foam tips were nice and help comfort considerably. For the money these are excellent and do just what I needed.

(Pictured left to right: FAAEAL iris Ancestor, iris 2.0, snow lotus 1.0, rosemary, apple earpod) I've been looking at these FAAEAL earbuds for a while but wasn't sure which one to get so I took one for the team and got 4 models to do a mega comparison, and included wired apple earpods. - Iris ancestor includes the buds and two pair of black foam covers. - Iris 2.0 includes the buds, two pair of black foam covers, a small clip to clip the cable to your shirt and a nice drawstring carry bag. - Snow Lotus 1.0 includes the buds, two pair of black and two pair of white covers, the clip, and bag. - Rosemary includes buds, four pair black and four pair white covers plus 3 pair of "donut" shaped black covers with a hole to let more treble through, the clip, and the bag. - Oddly all have a right angle 3.5mm connector except the snow lotus 1.0 with a straight connector. The iris ancestor has a soft rubber cable, the rest have iem style twisted pair cables. For the purpose of comparing their sound I used foam covers on all buds including the apple pods. I find bare plastic less comfortable so I always run foams anyway. Your choice of bare, foams, or "donut" foams will affect the sound, mainly how they seal in the ear and how much treble is let through. A paper hole punch or plain scissors could be used to create donuts if your pair doesn't include them. - Iris Ancestor - Most "V" shaped sound, at a comfortable volume they are easy to listen to, and the reduced mid-range makes them sound less "busy". This reduced mid-range allows you to hear the most treble "detail". - Iris 2.0 - I would describe as mostly flat but with slightly reduced treble. Treble is present but is not allowed to stand out like the Iris Ancestor, however this trade allows the mid vocals to be more present. - Snow Lotus 1.0 - Mid-forward or bass and treble reduced, however you prefer to look at it. I found this pair to have the least treble AND the least bass. When I first put on a mid-forward phone I find myself turning up the volume to get the treble where I want but then the mids are shouting and I walk it back down. With this pair you hear different echoes and background sounds than you normally hear up in the treble area. - Rosemary - Probably the most flat but with a light bump somewhere in the upper-mid/lower-treble area. With this pair everything feels represented. That bump makes certain vocal echoes stand out more than usual, without sounding too nasally, however it may get fatiguing at high volumes. - Apple Earpods - Sounds engineered to be inoffensive, like a big company did lots of R&D. Sounds like slightly lower bass was prioritized, has a certain thump without being warm in the upper bass. Treble is clear but does not risk being too bright and fatiguing, clear but does not sparkle. Honestly all were enjoyable to listen to. The only potential problem scenario that comes to mind would be high energy, bassy music on the mid-focused snow lotus 1.0, it might sound a little flat because it's not playing to it's strengths. For the price of these I think it's hard to be disappointed, and I would recommend choosing based on your preferred sound "shape".

For $10 these are a no brainer. Please try these with the foams included, I would suggest using full foams (if you get donut foams which have a hole in them, then that's all you can do unless you buy some on your own ) If these don't fit you, they will never fit you and there will be no way to fix that. In that case you should return them. PLEASE USE THE FOAMS WITH THESE. For earbuds, these provide decent bass which is also not muddy (these are not a basshead earbud, but it does give bass which anyone could appreciate). I have messed around with EQing these, and I would recommend this: low shelf ,50hz, gain 0.6, Q 1 low shelf ,80hz, gain 1.5, Q 1 low shelf ,150hz, gain 0.3, Q 0.6 low shelf ,250hz, gain 0.3, Q 0.6 high shelf ,10000hz, gain 2.5, Q 0.8 i'm not an expert, but to me this EQ "wakes" up the earbud and makes the vocals better, but still keeps its warm sound signature Of course, you don't need to really do any changes and they still sound SPECTACULAR for $10. I have dabbled with a few different earbuds, and I am sure most people have used apple earpods at least once. These wipe the floor with them (I was using those for a few months consecutively before I got these). But at the end of the day, if these don't fit well with the foams, I would suggest returning them.

The appearance of these earphones is average, and I’d rate the sound quality a 6 out of 10, which is just passable. However, they are quite affordable, making them an average product overall. If you’re looking for budget-friendly flat-head earphones, these might be worth considering.

These are THE BEST flat earbuds I have ever heard. If you are familiar with the VE Monk Plus that was popular several years ago now, I compared the FAAEALs to my old braided Monk Plus and I was flabbergasted! I could not believe the level of detail and how much bass I hear in these. Overall phenomenal buy, especially at this price and the pretty blue color.

These style of earbuds are hard to find. I don't like the suction-style buds that shove into your ear canal. These sounds excellent, I am really shocked how much better they sound than most earbuds of this style, including my Sennhesier MX 365s. They're comfortable in the ears for long listening sessions. Excellent bass response and no shrillness from the mids & highs. My only critique is the cord gets annoying and pulls more than other earbuds. The cord is a nice quality, but too thick and the braid holds tension. The Y-site junction has a hard plastic bit on it that crushes into my sternum at the gym doing chest machines. The right-angle plug is comically large and looks silly on my tiny Sansa Clip player. They also need to put a rubber grommet where the wire comes out of the earbud because you can hear the cord clacking around in the hollow tube. Overall, 4 stars for exceeding my expectations. Excellent quality, comfort and value.

The sound quality far surpasses the price. I have quite the headset collection and just recently stumbled across some YouTubers raving about flatheads around 7-10 years ago. Some of those same people have switched to IEMs/headphones. I purchased both the Iris 2.0 and the Snow Lotus 1.0. They both have amazing sound quality, with the Snow Lotus leaning more towards a balanced sound. The Iris is exactly to my preference. It's just the right amount of bass and mids. Female vocals, cymbals and snare, and high-end frequencies are in the sweet spot where there is no sibilance. I'm blown away—not just with the price, but the overall sound.

I bought these since I misplaced my Bose earbuds. I’m sure if you’re not use to quality earbuds you will find these decent, but for me it was difficult to adjust to the lower volume and not so clear sound. Fits in ears ok. Would buy again. Cable is good quality.

Surprisingly good sound quality. Best ear-buds I've ever used (NB use without foam pads) - almost as good as open over-the-ears expensive headphones. Excellent frequency response giving a spacious open sound stage particularly for jazz/classical and voices sound natural. Mainly use in bed at night - despite open back design, sound leakage is minimal and no complaints from partner. The unusual cord warrants comment - it's plaited design that looks and feels good - and resists tangling. Right angled 3.5mm plug is convenient as it provides a low profile connection.

Most of headphones are above $ 400 each. But this (and a few like this, like Monk) are the only ones I can game with. Meets all expectations and quality is above the rest of the cheap practical. Enjoy. Don't use the tips.
