Julius-K9, 16IDC-P-M, IDC Powerharness, Dog Harness, Size: Mini, Black

This is exactly what I had hoped it would be. It fits my Frenchie well and is adjustable for establishing and maintaining a perfect fit. It doesn't slip around. Material of the strap is flexible and soft. The harness shell holds its shape for easily putting on and taking off. Weight is light. There's a well positioned and durable handle on top of the harness that offers a quick, pick-up option should that need arise. The harness appears safe well made. Great value. Quality product.

I started using Julius K9 harnesses after one of my Shar-Pei dogs was wiggling out of every harness we got him. One harness was causing irritation under one of his front legs as well. He could not escape the IDC harness and was much more behaved with it on. These harnesses come in a variety of sizes, colors, and are super adjustable. I have a few at home, including an IDC belt harness, but the saddle style is really the way to go for a full grown dog. The belt harness is a nice, sturdy, cost efficient solution if you have a puppy and are not sure how big they will grow to be. Mine wound up being a small dog and her harness still fits her, but I wanted the saddle style because I wanted to use the universal bags which were not staying secure on the belt version. My 70lb Doberman wears a size 1. A Shar-Pei in the 40-50 lb range can wear a size 0 or 1, but 0 is probably better. My 30lb mini Shar-Pei wears a Mini. IDC harnesses size 0 and up have a loop to place a flashlight and a snap to hide the "O" ring. The mini does not have these features, but it still a nice harness. The small universal side bags will fit all of the IDC harnesses, but they take the small sized patches and not the regular size like the larger bags. The patches that come with the harness glow in the dark which is really cool. You can also buy reflector strips, and many other patches that range from "In Training" to "Do Not Feed." There are also several country flag patches available. The mini harness that I ordered from Amazon has a different texture than the canvas ones I have in sizes 1 & 2. I don't know if this is a feature of the smaller sizes or something new. The texture on the one I received is like pleather, which I actually like quite a bit. ***UPDATE: I heard from Julius K9 official and they said this harness is from a leather series that only comes in black. This was actually a great deal from Vegas K9 as I paid less for the mini harness than I could have gotten anywhere else.*** All of the harnesses I have purchased have been black, so I cannot comment on the other colors. The color is a true black and not a dark blue or gray. They do need a bit of dusting off from time to time because of the darker color. The handle is good for securing your dog during a vet visit or right before a competition. If you don't have a Julius K9 leash to go with this, you should get one. I have a nylon with rubber and a full rubber one, both of which are comfortable and have stood up to the test of time. I recently saw a glow in the dark version which looked nice too. If you are looking for a sturdy, comfortable harness for your dog, Julius K9 is it. This company's products were originally made for police dogs and other working dogs. They are well loved my many dog owners for a reason. My only complaint about this smaller harness and this is not Julius K9's or the seller's fault, is that I didn't save the smaller rings for the small universal side bags. I never expected to have a small dog, so I guess I threw the smaller rings away a while ago. Totally my fault. The larger rings do work on this harness and are holding the bags in place, thankfully.

This is solid harness design for dogs like Golden Doodles. I found that due to physical structure of my GD, other harness had to be cinched so tight around his neck to get the front bridle to sit properly, that the harness was hard to pull back off- without loosing it each time. This harness keeps a nice loop around the neck- goes on and off super easy and gives me decent control. Due to its simple design - it lays across the chest and belly of my GD perfectly. with one buckle to adjust- it makes adjustments clean and simple as well. This a well-made harness. It is simple to use. I also liked the fact they have many colors, sizes and options to customize.

I just rescued an Anatolian Shepherd and at 11 months old, he's already about 100 lbs. He had no training so I knew I needed to be able to control him right away or he would pull me along for the rest of his life. I did a lot of research on harnesses for big dogs and went with Julius-K9 based on the reviews. I couldn't be happier. I knew as soon as I took it out of the box that it was a quality product. Sizing was right on (I bought a 3 for him, but they also make a 4). But best of all, it actually worked. It allows me to stop and stand there if he's pulling without him getting hurt or me getting yanked onto my butt. I made the mistake one morning of leaving this on him unattended and within a minute he had chewed through half the front strap. But I was so happy with it, I immediately bought a replacement from their website and another one for my chocolate lab. They make one identical to this that has a safety lock strap that covers the buckle. I replaced this one with that one for the added security. They make this harness in at least a dozen colors and you can order custom patches for the sides. I made one for my lab that says "I rescued my human". They also have side bags that attach in about 30 seconds. I bought those for my Anatolian to give him a "job" when we're out for walks. They aren't cheap, but I feel the price is good for the quality and design. Many other harnesses are nearly the same price and you're getting a lot less. I looked at this as buying security and safety, two things that are worth the extra money to me. If my Anatolian ever got loose, I have no doubt I wouldn't be able to get him back. One thing to consider, if you have a leash with one of those annoying new style clips that everyone is using these days, it won't fit over the ring on this harness. I've now recommended this to about 6 other people.

We have an English bulldog and I originally ordered this black, size 1 harness for our 5 month old pup, because he is quite chunky at 35 pounds already. The size 1, which is a large, is waaay too big for him. I also ordered a size medium/0 and that fits him perfectly. He loves loves loves the medium red harness. So I’m returning the size 1 black harness. Before finding the Julius K-9 harness on Amazon, we had purchased 3 different harnesses from Petsmart and even tried them on Tater in the store. But once we got home and had more time to actually watch him walk around the house, none of them fit him comfortably because of his wide chest and belly. Our puppy is a wild man, and it was exhausting trying to get the other harnesses on him to go for a walk. However, once we got the Julius K-9 harness set up and adjusted to his body, it has been super easy to put on him. This Julius K-9 harness is the most expensive one we have purchased so far, but actually it’s only about $10 more than the box store versions if… you get one of the colors that Julius K9 has listed cheaper. I ordered a red medium/0 because it was significantly discounted than some of the other colors. And the size one large that I ordered in black was also significantly discounted in that color. So when you’re ordering, definitely check to see which colors of the harness are discounted in your dog’s size. Now, I’m going to order custom name tags in black with red letters for the medium harness (M/0) that we are keeping. I need to order the small name tags because they fit that M/0 vest. I searched on Amazon for Julius K-9 custom velcro name tags and several size/colors are available for purchase for about $10each. I also saw other companies that were selling patches that might’ve worked, but I decided to go with Julius K-9 brand because I did not want to iron on patches. I wanted to get the Julius K-9 custom Velcro patches. It’s weird, it says on the custom patch description, something like loop and hook but they are actually Velcro patches. Maybe they call it loop and hook just because they don’t want to use the Velcro trademark name.

I purchased this for my partner's service dog. The dog is approximately 45 pounds and is considered medium-sized. He is a Husky on the smaller size for his breed. So, we purchased this after taking measurements and found this vest to be the most appropriate. The vest is sturdy and well-made. There are two straps (one that straps in across the chest area and the other underneath the lower chest) that can be adjusted for fit. My only complaint is the strap underneath the chest area can rub under the front legs, so it can cause some discomfort for the dog, even if adjusted to a looser fit. The strap on that sits on the front of the chest area has a reflective patch on it, so it is good for visibility at night. There are also two Velcro spaces on the vest that patches can be attached to. I purchased patches that needed to be sewn on. However, I am sure that the vest is sturdy enough to handle Velcro patches. Lastly, there is a handle section on the top of the vest that also has a clip that a leash or hold can be attached to. The overall body of the vest is very solid. It has been used daily for the past four years, and it is still in really great condition. It is easy enough to through into the washing machine. We let it air dry. I recommend this harness vest, but make sure you measure before you make a decision about sizes. Also pay close attention to if it chafes on the dog's underside. Very good product!

UPDATE!!! I’ve included a photo of Zahara our Doberman Pincher with her Julius k-9 vest with personalized name patches!!! Las Vegas k-9 was great to deal with once we made contact. They let me know what other proof of purchase info I could give them and we had the name patches in about 2 weeks. Thank you again for the great service once we connected. I would purchase from you again and recommend you to friends and family!!! We got one for Zahara as a Christmas gift and love it!!! We use it mainly as a restraint in our SUV. It’s very easy to get on and off and is light weight and comfortable for Zahara. It only came with one custom patch. Ordered another harness for our truck because we like it so much. I didn’t get a chance to look at what was needed for the 2 free custom patches we were supposed to get for a few days and then saw I was supposed to use something off the box it came in. Unfortunately the box had already been recycled. I have sent 2 emails to their customer service to find out if there is something else I can give them showing proof of purchase with no response. I also let them know that I would pay for the custom patches if I had to and would like to get a third one to put on the harness we got as a gift. No response. I called a number on their site and got a foreign speaking woman that I could not understand. When I called again the message box was full. I just want the custom patches and want to know how I can get them.
