It may or may not be too long depending on how thick or thin you want your over-grip to be. You may cut the excess but I just continue wrapping even if it goes over the original grip. I was previously using Tourna Grip XL Original Dry Feel Grips, but prefer the Yonex much more - The Yonex grip wrap is just a bit soft and cushioning compared to the Tourna and I can get 3-4 matches on each wrap before I prefer to replace them.
