just making sure: am i supposed to remove the ring the connects the loops of the whisk?

I've had other such whisks with the rings, purchased from stores and the ring always stayed in place. I assumed it was to help hold everything together. I've left mine on and not had any trouble in using it.

how many loops does this 10 in whisk have?

I actually took the whisk out of the drawer and counted 18 loops in groups of 6. Hopes this helps as it is very sturdy.

Is this whisk magnetic? Like would stick to a magnetic knife bar?

It is all stainless steel and stainless steel is not supposed to be magnetic, so I am assuming the answer is no

Is this whisk okay in mixing hot liquids?

This is a heavy duty and sturdy whisk I love it yes it's work great on mixing hot or cold liquirds
