I wouldn't go that far... The wrench end is a bit sloppy. At the same time, I bought a cheap made-in-china version that seemed better quality. (No ratchet though.) The best one I have is made by Jameson, #03015. No ratchet either...

What size is the ratchet at the handle base?

7/8". Also note that it comes with a fitting that is not listed in the product description that allows you to use the 7/8" ratchet as a 1/2" socket wrench. Very skookum

Does it come with tool pouch

It does come with a belt pouch, holds the wrench, the socket adapter and has a chain for "stringing sockets".

Is there an 8" version of this? Can one be made if I purchase in bulk?

Sorry, currently the Proferred version is only available in the 12" version.
