**Q: Can these fill a medium-size room from optical out on tv? as tv speakers?**
A: It'll shake the rafters in a 20'x20' room if you let it. I can hear them comfortably in every corner of my 2000 sq ft single-level home.

A: Dorian,Definitely use optical if your motherboard supports it. Digital connections are not susceptible to interference / noise which is very common when using the analog outputs of on-board audio. A: The amp does a decent job with my turntable - you'll need to play with the volume and balance a little to get it where you like it, but it works well.
