The other tools and blade do click into place rather positively, but they could closed unintentionally if bumped with some force. Nothing feels loose or unsafe, however. **Q: Are the pliers spring loaded?** A: Yes, a medium-strength spring keeps the pliers open all the way, ready to be squeezed. **Q: How is this particular item packaged? Does it come from Amazon in clamshell packaging (like stores), or does it come in a leatherman cardboard box?** A: Mine came packaged nicely. It arrived in an Amazon box the size of the shoebox. Inside the box were plastic air pillows and the actual Leatherman cardboard box (not plastic clamshell).
