Is this back pack a knock off from the original? How are the prices significantly lower?

The one I got does not seem to be a knock off and is very well constructed... The issue, unless you only use this ONLY for outdoors... is the metal all over it.... Maybe this is why this one is so much less(?). When I bought mine it was still over 100.00 which is not cheap for a laptop knapsack....You have to be ultra careful when around anything that can scratch or ding... as the metal all over this will do that easily... Cars, Aircraft, walls, etc... Holds ALOT of stuff to include a laptop (or two)... I highly doubt this is a knock-off...

I want to purchase the blacked out bag. but it looks smaller than the black with silver accents. If i order the blackout bag, will it be the XL one?

No the XL one is around 300 because it all leather. you can se the leather in the photos

Is it carry on acceptable?

The oakley label on my backpack is made out of rubber... the ones in the pics and in the backpacks at the oakley store are different. is mine newer?

You mean the logo or the label on the flap of this smaller front compartment? Logo should be metal. Label should be fabric in all contemporary models. I vaguely remember it looking differently in the older versions of the bag but I still think it was fabric (just different) not rubber.
