will the friction of install/removal eventually wear on the sidewall of tires? (at least points of install are random)

I've had it for a year, haven't noticed any wear on my tires. I would hope you wear your tires out from riding before the sidewalls from the friction of pulling the bike in and out of the clug.

What size drill bit is required for the pilot hole? and size of the anchor?

I do not recall which size drill bit I used be cause I simply used a bit smaller in diameter than the screw. This method was sufficient for me to screw it into a wall. The main concern is what kind of wall or surface you plan to screw into.

The mtb's stated range is 43-62mm, has anyone tried it with 700x45c tires? if so, did it feel loose, since it's at the lower end of the range?

I can't address this directly since I;ve got 700x35 tires -- but I got the "hybrid" CLUG which is rated for 33-42mm tires so I'm also at the lower end of the range. There's a no wobble, as the thing expands to accept the tire and then closes around it. But there's a bit of slop in how the rest of the bike sits on the ground. I've had it for more than six months now and have never had a problem mounting the bike.

Se monta rápido,aunque necesita taladro, y aguanta bien la bici

El producto cumple con su función perfectamente. La rueda de mi bici es de 25 y se adapta perfectamente. Echo en falta que venga alguna pequeña pieza para que la rueda trasera no toque la pared y no la manche. Yo he tenido que poner un cartón que no es muy estético.
