Works well in the CNC router doing vcarves. I like the idea of flipping the carbide to another side when it becomes dull. Amana makes some of the best bits. Should last a lifetime.

I make rustic flags with my Shapeoko XL CNC router. When I started I went all out and bought Amana bits, only to have them break due to my own errors. This led me to buying super cheap bits and they got the job done and I didn't cringe when they broke. Recently I've seen this new type of bit and was pretty surprised to see it was at such a low price. When I looked up that replacement blades were only a few bucks, I decided to give it a try. I've done about 10 jobs so far and have been very surprised at the precision and cleanliness of the cuts. I mainly use pine panel boards so it's pretty soft wood running at 47ipm (inch per minute). I will probably increase the speed, but I am still getting a feel for it. Overall I would highly recommend this but. Great price and quality material.

This bit was a job saver. I was cutting a sign with rather large letters. The width of the V carve was .75 inches. I first started the cut with a 90 degree 3/8th inch v bit (Amana # 45701) and the results were awful. Choppy and ridges throughout the cut. I contacted customer support for my CNC ( New Wave) and for days the techs and engineers had no answers. They told me to use a 30 degree bit instead. (WHAT??) I then thought to try a bit with a wider diameter and voila! The results with this bit were damn close to perfection. Lesson learned. Wider 90 degree V cuts need a wider V bit.

This cutter really is a gem of a bargain when it comes to replaceable knife cutters. The 45711 uses the most common and affordable replacement knives Amana sells. The cutter is unbelievably sharp and accurate, with an effective width of cut of .668". I have attached a video of the tool cutting very fine detail in pine (and through masking), one of the most difficult materials to get clean sharp lines in. It is important to know that although this appears to be a two flute bit, it is not. The knife is offset half a mm to one side, effectively making it a single flute cutter. Because of this, you need to double your spindle speed from a typical double flute cutter. The advantage is one knife gives you four cutting edges. I have had no issues with balance that others have reported. Simply hold the knife to the right side when tightening. Great, inexpensive cutter. Update 09/20/2019 I will also add that the cutter is phenomenal in aluminum as well., Even gives a great bottom finish with a 4% stepover

Best V-bit I've tried so far! Super clean cut regardless of wood hardness. Nice clean cuts on Oramask perfect for V-carve painted projects. Looking forward to many hours of use out of this.

Just used this bit for the first time. Worked perfectly with the feed and speed stated on the paperwork that came with the bit. This was a huge upgrade for my CNC router. My old bit would leave ridges inside the v-groove and I figured it was a limitation of my CNC. But with this bit I now realize it was just a limitation of the bit I was using. I'm very happy with this bit and would highly recommend.

What sets it apart is the convenience of being able to change out the blade, providing less waste and room taking in the tool drawer. The carving performance is exceptional, producing clean and precise grooves with ease. It's great for carving signs and making 45 degree miter cuts on the CNC.

Fraise achetée pour faire de la gravure. La pointe n'étant pas alignée sur l'axe de la queue créee un plat a l'usinage. Impossible de faire de la gravure je suis deçu, je vais chercher sur d'autres sites.

I run three cnc machines all day every day & have used all sorts of bits. I have not found anything that comes close. I have read a few bad reviews about aligning the blade, but in my opinion, that sets them well apart from everything else. I purchased one a few months ago to try & struggled to get the blade right as I was trying to centralize it. The blade has to be to the right! then angle the blade to get the point as central to how "you" want it, a bit of practice & I get it right every time now. I now run them on all my machines. A real added bonus is the price of the replacement blades, which I find hold their edge better than two flute bits & can be rotated when the blade starts to dull.
