The timer is great and easy to use. It is definitely waterproof as when the water has been changed in the tank it sits below the surface. The downside is that it's not that bright and doesn't make a huge difference to the plants. I have 2 small aquariums with different lights. In the other one the plants have gone berserk. This is they are yellowing a bit. The tank is very small so there's not a lot of space for a light so it's doing an good job really. I just knocked a star off for the brightness. It's a good price though and a well made item.
