**Q: Cant i just use the back side of a run of the mill tire psi gadge to do the same thing? Couldnt i use a car key too?**
A: Sure.  But you'd have to sit there and hold the key or air gauge there to deflate the tire.  The point of these is so you can screw it on, walk away and come back to stop it.  These are very handy in the offroading world as we tend to air down four tires from 35 psi to 18 psi.  Doing it with your method takes a very long time.  Using these it's a very quick process because you can deflate multiple tires at a time.

**Q: Are these able to be set for exact deflation psi? Will they stop at a certain pressure?**
A: No, this type of deflator simply lets you screw it onto the valve stem and still allows for the air pressure to be checked with the device in place. You unscrew it when the desired level is achieved.

**Q: How long does it take to completely deflate a tire with one of these?**
A: I run a 33" tall tire on my XJ at 28 psi, and it took 2 minutes and 30 seconds to get to 15 psi, and 7 minutes and 32 seconds to go flat. If you're looking to deflate a tire ASAP then get a valve core removal tool. But these deflators are cheap and well built and reliable. I don't want to chance losing a valve core on the trail.
