Bugs Bunny: 80th Anniversary Collection

I stumbled upon this on our Amazon (UK) website as a US IMPORT. At around £56 including delivery from the states. Being a huge fan of Bugs I placed my order straight away and waited for it to arrive. In the box you get a pop funko figure of bugs, an introduction letter from a guy called Jerry Beck and most importantly a 3 disc Blu Ray set containing 60 fully restored Bugs cartoons plus extras such as commentaries and featurettes . It should be noted that the bulk of the features have already been released on the “golden collection’’ dvd boxset. There was a brand new documentary on bugs 80th birthday which was nice to watch but I doubt you’d watch multiple times. As for the cartoons all have pristine picture and sound which was nice to see, you wouldn’t know they were made over 60 years ago . There’s pretty much some from every decade including fan’s favourites what’s opera Doc? And Oscar winning Knighty Knight Bugs . If I was being picky I’d have liked Broomstick Bunny included as it’s one of my favourites but it was nice to slip a disc into the player and indulge in wall to wall bugs instead of lesser favourites like the golden collection boxset includes. Lastly this is a limited numbered edition of 30,000 so grab it while you can.

If you are reading this, you already love Bugs Bunny or you know someone who does. This set will not disappoint! You get 3 BluRays worth of Bugs Bunny cartoons and a terrific fun Funko toy limited to this box set. If you get this box set and the Platinum Collections Volumes 1-3, you will have 90% of Bugs Bunny's content. Collect the Collector's Choice Volumes 1-4, and Collector's Vault Volume 1 (a new series of classic content), you will have more bugs Bunny content. But just this box set alone gives you so many classic Bugs cartoons. From early to later years, this set is in chronological order and easy to navigate. Your Looney Bugs Bunny fan will thank you every time they play these discs.

A great collection of fantastic animated cartoons from an era in which quality mattered.

Like many I was not interested in the Funko Pop figure, but I did not boycott this release or decide to wait until they sell the Blu-Rays on their own. If people don't buy this set we may never see the cartoons released on their own anyway. And I would like to see more Blu-Ray releases of WB cartoons. If they don't sell they will not release more, many classic cartoons in HD will be stuck behind the paywall at HBO Max, which is a rental. Rant aside, this set is a gem. There are about 10 cartoons here that were also on the Platinum Collection Blu-Rays, which themselves did not sell well enough to warrant more than 3 volumes and are now hard to find. Some cartoons here are on disc for the first time, some in HD for the first time and others getting their aspect ratio fixed to the proper 4:3. Most of the extras were released before on the Golden Collections. The picture quality on all the cartoons is incredible. If you like Looney Tunes please buy this. If you don't want the Funko Pop sell it or give it away. The figure comes in it's own box so it's brand new. I got the set for $55 and we may see it on sale for less around Thanksgiving.

If I am being honest, I bought this just for the Funko pop. However it was a nice addition to receive the Bugs Bunny cartoons. The download code did not work at first but eventually it ended up going through. Now I can watch these shorts anytime I want as they are stored on my YouTube (google) account. Everything came in great condition. A must have if you are a Funko pop collector and a fan of Bugs Bunny and Looney Tunes in general
