Cleans well but I did not like the smell

Ecover is one of my trusted manufacturers but I am new this product because I did not feel that 'plant based' would be up to cleaning a toilet. I have hung back before writing this review to make sure that what I impart would be correct as I saw it. Having given the product a very good try I am amazed that 'plant based' is so much better than the 'chemical based' that I previously used. Following the instructions - to leave the cleaner to do its work for ten minutes and then brush off - I found it easy to use, left the toilets clean, bright and very shiny. The big plus for me was that I did not cough or have a streaming nose and eyes and did not get a 'chemical headache'. My compact bungalow did not smell of toilet chemicals and I did not need to open any windows. That is a lot of plusses for one small bottle and I shall never again have to suffer discomfort after cleaning toilets. I think it goes without saying that I wholeheartedly recommend Ecover toilet Cleaner and shall most certainly buy it again.

Yes, I’m one of those sad people that finds genuine joy in discovering a new and effective cleaning product. I’m a bit Ecover obsessed anyway as their products are cheap, great for the environment and actually work. There is no nasty chemicals in this stuff, and for once, cleaning the toilet is tolerably easy. Just squirt some of this cleaning fluid in the toilet and under the rim, leave for half an hour and wipe the area clean (no toilet brush for me guys I hate the things!). It doesn’t take much elbow grease and it smells nice afterwards. What more can you want?

Very impressed with these after a trial run so I’ve now ordered it to come monthly. I am acutely aware of the nasty things that go into our oceans so this year switched to eco-friendly cleaning products. That included this. It also appealed as not tested on animals. It’s got a very low-key scent so if strong scents or bleach get to you this is ideal. Very easy to use and angle bottle. I’d say the liquid consistency is medium, certainly fine to clean with. I have a “rimless” new toilet which does make it more hygienic but still get build up at the bottom of the pan or “accidents”. I’m in a 3 person household and used a couple of times a week my toilet is perfectly clean. Those who’ve said it’s not cleaned I wonder if their toilets are in a dire state or something? I like that this is clear as learnt last year that awful blue toilet cleaner getting on any plastic of your loo stains permanently. I just don’t like bleach as a product. It’s awful for our environment and to breathe in and many don’t know it’s dangerous to pets like cats. Strong cleaning products get on their paws which they then clean and they also inhale. This is safe and our oceans really need our help. 😊

We use ecover products in our household mainly because we have a septic tank and their range is super eco friendly Don’t be fooled into thinking you are having to put up with second best though as their products really do the job The toilet cleaner range has a fresh fragrance and cleans the toilet bowl if you leave it to do its job The price is more than comparable with other mor harmful products

Pleased with the cleaning capabilities, leaves toilet bowl sparkling and the fragrance is fresh. Easy cap to open unlike some supermarket bleach bottles which cannot be opened at all! Does not damage the environment which is critically important. I leave the product for about 20 minutes to take effect then brush as usual.
