The chest protector is a good balance and protects the more vital areas of the body. I took a good hit last summer and cracked/bruised rib. Which is why I bought this chest protector. I've tried more expensive brands and the protection, size and comfort was very similar to the O'Neal at a lower cost. Great value for what you get. Can't go wrong with this.
