Does it come with the adhesive roll already or do you have to purchase those separate?

It does come with an Adhesive roll but it’s the permanent one. To have an adjustable adhesive you would need to purchase that.

What is the difference between the 5 inch xyron 500 and the 5 inch xyron 510?

Does the paper that you put in come out with a "lamination" type feel or just a paper feel?

Unfortunately I was not able to get the paper to spit out. The stickiness of the laminate jammed it in the machine. From what I could tell it would come out like you had put it between two sheets of tap and would be flimsy

I like the idea, but I am worried about those cartridges. Can you trade them in? Are they recyclable? It seems very eco unfriendly.

No you cannot trade them in to my knowledge. I put mine cartridges in my recycle bin since my community recycles.
