Thank you** A: I am currently a student at a local college working on my last semester of refrigeration and air conditioning technology, I have used this sensor to detect R-22 and R-134a leaks and verified it with a much more expensive sensor. It works for these two refrigerants and yes, it detects the gas not just air. I also use soap bubbles once I have verified the location of the leaks.
