Can this be put in a portable case?

I haven’t looked into a case, but as long as it accommodates the flip back handle, there seems to be decent clearance space between the tops of the bobbin threader and tension adjustments, and where you would need your fingers to slide under the handle. Hope this helps!

Does it have an automatic thread cutter?

No it does not. Still a nice machine for the money!

How many feet does this machine come with?

I believe 13. Though it is hard to say for sure - I had tons of leftover feet from other machines (babylock and singer) and they all fit, so my "fet drawer" has close to 50. But I am pretty 13 are from Bernette.

Does it have adjustable needle positions for tricky zipper work, etc. and does it have choice of needle down or up when releasing power? Thank you

it does NOT have a feature where you can tell the machine to always stop needle down, or stop needle up position when you release the footpress. it DOES have option to shift needle to the left or right -- really nice feature. it is a very nice machine and the side working surface is a great free addition
