Colic Calm Infant Gripe Water for Colic, Helps Fussiness, Upset Stomach, and Baby Gas Relief, 2 fl oz (Pack of 1)

Our go-to whenever our babies had gas pains or unexplained fussiness. We bought it again for our 5th baby. It calms him down almost immediately. I love that it’s vegan and allergen-free. The main ingredient is charcoal, which works amazingly. The liquid is black, which stains temporarily but washes off easily ◡̈

All my babies get bad gas and get really upset and fussy and don't sleep too well because they wake up with gas. I discovered this with my third child, but due to the expense, I only used it very sparingly, so it didn't help much, but it gave relief when I used it. Now, with my 5th child, I decided it would be worth it if it gave my son relief. I have only used it mainly in the evening before bed so he gets a better night's sleep. When he was younger, like a few months old, he would get horrible bouts of gas every night and wake up a ton throughout the night fussing, sometimes every 10 minutes it would seem or anytime I put him down. I would give him colic calm and he would usually burp, fart, spit up, and poop within 10 minutes. Sometimes all of the above. It was crazy and he would be so much better. Someone had mentioned constipation, but with my babies, it had the opposite effect. They would go potty and feel better. I started giving it every night whether he would get fussy or not and he would have a much better night. I had tried (to save money) to only give it to him when he had a problem, but if he seemed to be doing fine and not gassy, inevitably he'd wake up throughout the night with gas and it was better to just give it to him before he had a problem rather than once he was in pain. It also makes him go to sleep. Sometimes when he's fussy and overtired and just won't go to sleep or wakes up every time I lay him down, if I give him colic calm, he goes to sleep within about 10 minutes typically and it's a life saver for me. Sometimes it's taken 2 back to back doses, but no more than that. If he's still fussy after a half hour, I give him another dose and it does the trick. I love that it's natural, or atleast mostly natural, and it works. Amazon seems to have the best price (at the moment) anywhere with their 2 pack. My son is now 5 months old and I've almost used 2 bottles, so it's worth it to me. He's a very happy baby overall!

Chamomile is so powerful. Works wonderfully. I was reluctant to use but my husband insisted and we noticed immediately she had relief. Wish they would seal the bottle not just the box. Everyone complaining about staining but it’s activated charcoal which is an active ingredient in neutralizing the stomach. It’s easy enough to be careful or get a towel. Soothes very well

I purchased this product on a recommendation from my sister in law, who is so “organic” cautious that her family had sworn off meats, corn and anything that may have remote traces of byproduct. I figured that if she used it with her baby it must be safe. I read some reviews before buying this, which warned off purchasers regarding ingredients, such as chamomile, that may cause drowsiness. In my country we use chamomile water in vaporizers to create soothing sleepy time smell, so I did not think that was an issue. I must say this is the baby product I could have not gone without! It literally saved our lives! Subsequently, I tried so many other gripe waters, which were slightly cheaper, but nothing worked quite like this. Actually, I am not even sure anything else worked at all and I would compare the rest as simply sugar water. We used this product with our son well into the time he started teething. He loved the taste and we would sometimes just dip his binky into the gripe water before placing it is his mouth and he will instantaneously calm down from the sweetness of the water. This will be the first thing we packed when we traveled and I ended up ordering the next bottle before we had a chance to run out. I cannot even say whether I had a particularly colicky baby or not simply because I do not remember my son ever crying. We blame the peaceful nights to this magic concoction because I cannot imagine my son being just a calm baby, knowing how hyper and loud he is now at 10 months. I would say that the only drawback to this product really is the price. We are two working and relatively well-paid adults in our family, so I cannot imagine single moms or single income families being able to “splurge” on this magic potion. The only way we justified it is that buying one bottle of this worked better than buying 3 bottles of the cheaper varieties, which did not work at all. Moms, you should definitely try this product if you have never had! If it works for you (and it bought you few extra hours of sleep knowing you gave your baby totally natural product), then you get to pretend you are an awesome superwoman who can do everything effortlessly while other moms marvel your strength with jealousy!

I wish I could give it 0 stars! We gave it to him at about 9 pm. I was very excited. I waited, I expected him to calm right down. but he didn't. He still fussed. I thought it was just taking him longer. After all sometimes these things don't always act as fast in all people. So we waited longer. Then, it was bed time. But still, he didn't calm. So we took to the exercise ball, and strapped on the baby carrier. And nothing. He was fussy and very jumpy. You've heard of restless leg syndrome... his legs were jumpy like that. For hours we walked, bounced on the ball, burped, snuggled, swapped out with daddy, laid under blankets, out of blankets, in the dark, in the living room,...while we were in bed I had him laying on my chest, and I thought to myself "god, its like he is having seizures!" I got really scared. I started watching him. His eyes were open, and he was jumpy, kinda shaky. I wasn't sure if he was awake or what. He has been known to fall asleep with his eyes open...but all the movement...it was odd. and he seemed to be in a lot of pain. He was crying. and moaning the whole time. and screaming. That started almost as soon as I gave him the colic calm. It was frightening. Because I was so sleepy myself it took me awhile to put the pieces together. I think he was in a great deal of pain and crying from the stuff, but had fallen asleep, and was having very vivid dreams, hence all the movement and eyes open. I finally decided to try to wake him up and give him a bath, to help sooth his tummy. It worked...while he was in the water. As soon as we pulled him out, he was screaming again. So, we got the tylenol, his old gripe water and the phazyme. I gave him a dose of tylenol, gripe water. I put all of these meds in a bottle nipple together and he just sucks it down at the same time. With in minutes he was feeling better. Which I guess means he didn't really need the tylenol, but, I wasn't sure what kind of pain he was in. Honestly, it was horrible. And to make matter more frightening, I had also given my older daughter some for her tummy! So as I am laying in bed with my baby on my chest, thinking he is having seizures, my head then turned to older daughter upstairs in her bed and what in the world is going on with her. All night long I had been hearing her cough, cough, cough...then nothing. My mind was at the worst case possible... I had dh go check on her. Happily she was fine. as soon as I am done typing this I am going to dump that crap down the drain. I hope to never ever see my baby or any ones baby suffer like that again. All natural does not mean all safe. My father is a physician assistant and my mother is a mental health RN, they have warned me about that many times. I am so mad at myself right now. All natural does not mean all safe....

While this particular gripe water worked for my baby (vs the other brands of gripe water), it is most likely due to the chamomile’s sleep effects vs the gas relief. After giving a dose, my baby still squirms and shows evident sign of gas discomfort until she gets tired and passes out. My 7week old usually feeds every 2-3 hours around the clock. After giving this, she sleeps for 3-4 hours but still wakes up from gas discomfort. The first time she slept for almost 6 hours but that didn’t happen again for some reason. It’s still helpful in terms of allowing my baby to sleep and get rest, so I only give it to her at night or when she’s been up for a while crying from gas pains. Pros: -Helps with sleep (thereby indirectly helping mask the gas) -Works quickly -Taste doesn’t seem to bother baby Cons: -More of a sleep aid so when that wears off the gas pains comes back -Charcoal is black so it can stain and be messy if baby spits up -Bottle neck is extremely narrow so only certain syringes will fit, making it pertinent to have to make sure the provided syringe is washed and cleaned before the next use -Takes time to administer the 1.25mls since it’s advised to give drops at a time. This is very stressful when baby is already at the screaming/crying stage -May cause constipation like others have mentioned. I’ve only given 3 doses over the course of 3 days and have already seen a significant decrease in bowel movement -Can only be dosed 4 times a day so for extremely gassy babies you’ll have to decide when you want to reserve the three doses for and provide an alternative medication in between like simethicone. Again, this doesn’t seem to do much for gas pain so once it wears off and baby is awake, the pain comes back. Four stars because I’ve tried all the probiotics, simethicone brands, gripe waters and nothing helps my baby. This helps her sleep and get some alleviation from the discomfort so it works in that sense. Just don’t expect it to make the gas go away.

This is AMAZING!!! I originally started buying this when I had my first baby who had acid reflux. I didn't like giving him prescription medication at such a young age and used this to help keep him comfortable without having to increase his meds. I took it into our Pediatrician and he approved using it. Not only did it help with his reflux, but it was amazing for his gassy belly as well! Within seconds of taking it, he would start passing gas and have so much relief. He could not take the mylicon gas drops that so many people use and that our Pediatrician had us try for 2 weeks. That was the worst 2 weeks because it made him more gassy. Now 5 years later and another baby later, we still buy this regularly and we call it 'belly medicine". We use this for any kind of digestive discomfort. The grown ups use it too! I had a night that I was up several times in the bathroom and thought to take this. It brought the relief I needed and prevented future trips to the restroom. I was pregnant at the time and was thankful to have something that I knew was safe for me and the baby! I recommend this all the mom's I talk to that have babies with digestive issues. It is definitely worth the money and Amazon is the cheapest place I have found it. It does not come with the eye dropper top as pictured, but comes with a syringe to draw the medicine up. It is black, but does come out of clothes and tastes surprisingly good, a little sweet.

I am writing this review because as a new parent who struggled with their colic baby, I know first hand how difficult and desperate it can be to be unable soothe your baby. From around 3 weeks until he was 4.5 months, my baby boy cried nearly all day, every day, unconsolably. He had reflux, gas, intestinal discomfort, and we had difficulty nursing, sleeping, he wouldn't go in the stroller, could barely tolerate the carseat, hated the baby swing... it was an incredibly trying time. The only thing that helped the reflux was Zantac, and I cut out a ton of potentially irritating foods from my diet to help the gas, and tried many different gripe waters. I had read all the rave reviews of Colic Calm and wanted to desperately for it to work. I used it religiously, but I'm really not sure that it did anything, except help me feel like I was doing something to help. At five months I began slowly transitioning to formula at the doctors recommendation, and giving an ounce on chammomile tea twice a day. In the end it just took time, and now at 6 months my baby is happy, healthy and such a joy. I know this product has helped other families and I absolutely recommend trying it, as every baby is different, and hopefully it will be the solution for another family. I just want to give hope to those who feel like it will never end....it gets better.
