I just went to the REI website where they actually have dimensions...7"x14"x3". I find it to be a perfect size for its purpose. The 7x14 area fits right into your lumbar area. The 3" is the thickness when it's fully inflated, but you'll not doubt let some air out to suit your personal comfort level. I can't say enough good things about this pillow. I love mine. I actually left my first one of an airplane, never to be seen again, and immediately ordered a replacement, so as not to be without one.

What is the size of the pillow inflated?

18" by 9" by 2", including a 0.75" flat rim all around. You can get it a bit thicker than 2" by blowing air into it, or a bit (or a lot) thinner by not allowing it to fully inflate.

is this self inflating

yes, but after a while, when the valve was screwed closed and pillow rolled up, it kept semi-self-inflating. Not a positive. I went to the Cocoon line and love them (e.g. Cocoon Air-Core Ultralight Lumbar Support Pillow)
