See which channels are more occupied, in both 2.4G and 5G bands, including how wide they spread across the multiple channels. Good for channel selection. Of key importance to me is that it confirms that "Hidden" SSID access points are transmitting information, even when no client is connected to them. I do wish I could see if there is any actual activity on some intrusive WiFi radios in equipment I have that I have not ever connected to any legitimate access point, such as a TCL-Roku TV and a Vizio TV, and I have not been able to turn those unwanted WiFI radios off; The Vizio goes off after 35 minutes of the TV being on, presumably because it sees the WiFi is not being used, but the TCL-Roku TV WiFI continues to be active as long the TV is on, and off about 20 minutes after the TV is turned off. The Steren device lists those TVs as "access points", but I wonder if they are actually access points so WiFi clients could connect to them, or if they are really only clients that can connect to access points; if anyone knows, please post a comment. I love this device, because before I had no idea how many hidden networks there are around me, and I don't trust downloading software for this purpose. Review: Just a Toy - it could be so much better - it's great to show you the channels used by your wireless networks. There's a little extra that should be added to the manual: For the virtual on-screen keyboard, the CLEAR button will hide the keyboard WITHOUT clearing the text you have entered. I am slow, and it took me a while to work that one out. Having taken this product out on-site, i quickly realized this product has two KEY weaknesses: 1. You cannot export/email a copy of the access points it has found. I had to take pictures of the screens for my records 2. you cannot toggle between the "Channel Graph" and "Occupied Channels". This is NEEDED because SSID names on the channel graph are often on top of each other The other minor problem, is if you wish to check for a firmware update, it does not tell you that no update is available - instead you are left wondering if the function worked at all In terms of construction, it's all plastic, and the screen scratches VERY easily.
