They may be a faff to fold away after, but just try doing your self tape with identical lighting with and without the backdrop! My husband tried doing his tape with just the plain white wall behind him (cos lazy to take out the backdrop) and he looked unhealthy, it was unforgiving to say the least, we took out the backdrop, same lighting and the difference was amazing . He looked not only looked great, but it gives a more professional end product. My son's one broke after using it a few times, the bendy outer ring snapped and poked out of the edging material so that it could no longer pull the material taught or be folded back into its carry case.
