Review: The Best little dryer you can buy - My wife and I purchased this unit a few months ago and it has worked like a charm. We are a couple of empty nesters so our laundry load isn't that much. We purchased a small imported washer a month or so previous to this purchase and it works a treat, but not having a yard to string up clothes lines we resorted to getting a couple of drying racks. That worked, but it also took up a lot of space. So we bit the bullet and got this dryer, as well as the rack it can sit on over our washer. We also purchased a duct kit so that we could duct the exhaust outside. Being a 120 volt appliance, it won't dry clothes as quickly as a full-sized dryer. This unit uses about 800 watts of power, or about as much as a hair dryer running on low. Don't let that fool you into thinking it doesn't get hot, it does, but it also moves a lot of air through the drum. Between the two it gets clothes very dry, it just takes longer. The machine arrived well packaged with lots of padding in a sturdy box. The machine is all metal except for the door and some smaller parts like the lint filter. That said, the drum is fairly small. A typical basket of clothes is easily two loads, maybe three. Because air moving through the machine is so important, you -must- clean the lint filter after every load. Fortunately, that is pretty easy, but it is something that must be done or it will just take that much longer to dry. I prefer to use a small brush to clean the filter rather than washing it with water. Overall, we are very happy with this purchase. Magic Chef is actually a fairly well respected name in small appliances like toaster ovens and such, so while it seems odd for a kitchen appliance company to make laundry machines, this is really right up their alley. We love not having to drive to the laundromat every week, and with the money saved from that, I expect this machine to pay for itself.
Review: Great product - I did a lot of research before purchasing this. I am listing pros and cons, so you can make an informed decision and not be surprised. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone needing a small dryer for a condo/apartment/etc. Pros: This is the exact perfect size to go along with the washer I bought(Giantex 1.6 cubic feet). In about 80 minutes it will dry most of my wet clothes. The only things that need a little longer are towels. It is the perfect size for my needs and apartment. It doesn't quite pay for itself (based on my math of using the washer/dryer in my building $4 a load, once a week, for a year). However, if I do not need it after this year, I could easily sell it and make a profit. It is worth it for the convenience alone. Cons: The first time I used it, I set it on 100 minutes and left the apartment. I came back over 2 hours later and it was still going. To fix this I turned off eco mode and put it on normal. I also have sensor dry turned off as well. Since then I have not had this problem again. The machine makes a slapping sound. I took off the back and spun it by hand, as well as watching it run via power. The sound seemed to be coming from the top left (from the rear). I could not see what was actually causing it, so I am guessing there may be something in the drum (assuming it has two layers). Outside of that I do not know what could be causing it. It is a little annoying, but I'm getting used to it. It heats up the kitchen a little bit. It is not unbearable, and it is a result of venting it inside the apartment as oppose to outside. That is more of a con due to my situation. There are vent kits that would allow it to vent out of a window while keeping it sealed. However I live in an old house and the old wooden windows are painted or stuck shut.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: is the power cord included**
A: Yes. This is a 110V dryer, not 220V like a full size, so the cord is included and plugs into any standard 3 prong outlet.

**Q: is the vent connector included?**
A: Yes

**Q: Is it an electric dryer?**
A: Yes, you just plug it to a regular outlet. I recommend venting it to the outside. It will work without venting, but it will take longer to dry things. Also if you don't vent it the room will get quit warm--like you have a space heater on.

**Q: Is the plug a standard traditional plug that you would find on let's say a lamp**
A: Standard plug is what is called a NEMA 5-15P. This is a 110 volt, 15-Amp plug which is the standard wall outlet in the United States.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We Didn't Even Vent This and It Works SO WELL! Almost Full Size!
*by V***A on November 12, 2018*

Ok, so we don't have a washer or dryer hookup in our apartment. After getting sick of lugging clothes to the laundromat, we purchased a european style clothes washer with a spin dryer... which is a bit more labor intensive than we like, but it gets the job done. For drying clothes we were previously using a really neat little zip up wardrobe with a heater that dried our clothes, but that was even MORE labor intensive because you had to hang the clothes and couldn't fit too many clothes in there at once. Plus it took up a lot of space. So we bought this Magic Chef 2.6cu ft dryer in January of 2018 and IT IS THE BEST AMAZON PURCHASE we've made to date! It has made our lives sooo much easier. It has been 10 months now since we first started using it. We never even vented it and it works so well. You just plug it in! (Oh, I wanted to mention that the first week we had an issue where the dryer kept turning itself off and we found out we were using a bad extension cord. So we changed to a better extension cord [which I realize isn't ideal, but sometimes you have to make do] and we haven't had a problem with the dryer turning itself off since.) As far as how many clothes you can put in this dryer, I have found it's very close to a full size dryer! Probably like 3/4 regular load. I had a different apartment size dryer like 10 years ago that only dried like 1/2 a load at a time and it took FOREVER. This dryer, the way we have it set up (non vented) it takes a bit longer than a regular dryer, but not hours like the one I had like 10 years ago. Plan on drying for like an hour - hour and a half. Bottom line, if you don't have a dryer hookup and need to dry clothes, this dryer is an absolute time and energy saver. It works really well, it's incredibly easy to setup and use and we have been constantly using ours for 10 months now so seems to be trustworthy. I know it's worth every penny of the almost $200 I spent on it at the time.
