Animal Mah-Jong

Beautifully presented, unfortunately tricky to understand the rules. I play Hong Kong mah jong and American style. The pictures are amazing.

Great value per price when compared to more expensive melamine sets. The tiles are made from thick cardboard. This set is easy to modify to Chinese Mahjong by removing bonus tiles and jokers. I highly recommend Animal Mahjong as a good quality alternative tile set for any Chinese/American Mahjong player that is on a budget. The only negative is that the tile racks are made from cardboard. I can’t believe this hasn’t won an award for design and artwork! Every aspect of it is delightful. The vibrant colors and patterns and animal portraits - a well made game of quality. I didn’t even want to throw away the scraps after punching out the pieces. Going to look for a better video of how to play.

Instructions confusing

This game can be made simple or more complicated, and therefore is great for families with kids. Use it to play a matching game, or learning sequencing, or play traditional Mah-Jong rules. The booklet has the names of the animals and a short description, making another learning experience. The tile cards are sturdy. Just be sure you don't lose any when it's time to put it away!

Bought as a Christmas gift for teen daughter. We love playing this game. We usually get all our kids a game for Christmas but this is the one that will stay out. Everyone has fun. Even my 8 y/o loves it. Pictures are great. Tiles are thick cardboard that should last for years. I have never played Mah jong so I’m not sure if the rules are the same but this is a great game.

Game instructions very complicated- quality of paper poor sooo many pieces. My young grandchildren(age 4&7) play mahjong very well and with ease. Thought this would be a fun version. We did not find it so.

The designs are gorgeous but for the price, I believe getting a real tile set maybe worth it. This set is made entirely of cardboard so will not last as long with a lot of use. When setting up the walls, it was harder because the cardboard tiles were so thin. I have a actual tile set that I purchased for 10 $ more.

Bought for the missus and she really likes it.

This is so good we purchased a second set for when we wear this lot out from playing it so much. A seriously great game, played for fun or a more serious one if you are keeping score. We play almost every day just because we can and its a laugh a minute for us playing for fun. Make your own house rules, but you must stick to them. For two, three or four players. Absolutely magnificent, a quality game. You won't regret buying this simple to play, fast or slow as you like. We pick our tiles from a bowl, easier and quicker than the traditional setup of building a wall.
