This was a piece of cake to install. Lots of youtube videos to show you how. All the parts fit like a glove. I pretty much used the whole tube of grease so it was caked in grease just like before. Make sure you clean the original grease out as it will have all the metal shavings from the sacrificial gear. After replacement, unit ran perfectly (and just as loud as before haha). A great and inexpensive fix.

Came with no instruction or idea how to change it out, but youtube saved the day. Quick, easy and very messy but replaced without issues. Started out a bit louder than previous but after it ran for about 2-3 minute the grease worked it way back in and was back to normal. Hopefully its as strong as the initial one that lasted 15 years. Time will tell. Taking away a star due to lack of instructions.

If you’re a kitchen baker and using your cake mixer a lot or just a casual baker that uses a mixer very seldomly. The one thing you both have in common is when you’re ready to bake, you expect your mixer to work! My wife was ready to bake a cake with her Kitchen Aid Plus 600 series…but the mixer wasn’t! The beaters weren’t mixing. So, like a good husband it was either buy her a new one at $300-$800 dollars or try repairing her existing one? I chose to try and repair! Once I took the top off of the mixer and inspected, I noticed that the beaters were gear driven, and that the mixer’s motor was running just fine. Inspecting the gears more closely, I noticed that the gear teeth had been worn down on the single piece gear worm, so I decided to look for that part. Much to my surprise there were a lot of options out there, but one stood out amongst those, and it was sold through Amazon. Not a big surprise, you can find everything on Amazon! The seller was amazing, selling a great product at a great price! But, the amazing thing was not only the replacement part being compatible to the original, it came sold with every other part you would possibly need…including the bakers grease to re-grease the gears after putting new gear worm on. The other good thing was that it was suitable for most Kitchen Aid mixers, and other brands from what it looks like. All for the great price of $15 bucks! ($13 if you choose, without pliers). I highly recommend everyone to buy this kit. It’s your choice…$300 to $800 for a new mixer or buy this kit at $15 bucks! You won’t be disappointed, I know my wife wasn’t! It works like new!

Works as replacement. Tools not a perfect fit but made do. Installation was a bit tricky with alignment.

This is the best set you can buy to fix the most common kitchen Aid stand mixer problem (the worm gear.) It includes the ring plier set and more than enough grease (I thought that I might need more - but the included food grade grease is more than enough to complete a repair.) A solid set - my kitchen aid went back to work with less noise than new

First, I want to complain about the flimsy pliers. They would not fit my KitchenAid ring; the pliers' legs were too big. I had to chisel them thinner to fit. Second, they are very loud. It sounds like they are tearing down the roof. Bottom line, they did fix my kitchen blender at minimal cost. Just keep those two things in mind. Happy repairing!

Order arrived very promptly. The quality of the gear was good, the only part that was stripped out in my unit. The only issue was the snap ring pliers not being sized for the holes on the original ring. The snap ring that came with the package was not of good quality and I would strongly recommend using the original one.
