Great all-round controller with solid comfort and performance
Great all-round controller with solid comfort and performance I’ve been really happy with this controller for general gaming, whether I’m playing on the Xbox or hooking it up to a PC. It feels well balanced in the hands, the triggers and bumpers are nicely textured and comfortable even on longer sessions, and the updated hybrid D-pad gives a bit more precision compared with older gamepads I’ve used. The overall build feels good for the price and it doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy under normal use. Pairing and connectivity have been straightforward, and it’s compatible with Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Windows machines without any fuss. The battery life is decent and I’ve found it holds up well with standard AA batteries or via a USB-C cable when I want to plug in. The grip texture on the back and triggers helps keep hold of it during more intense play, and the share button is genuinely handy for clips and screenshots. A couple of minor things worth noting are that a few people can experience stick drift after a lot of use, and the performance isn’t quite as fancy or premium-level as more expensive pro or elite controllers, but for most players these won’t be deal-breakers. Overall it’s a dependable, comfortable controller that feels like a solid upgrade from older pads and great value for what you get.

It is early days but it seams much better.
It works well, it feels better in the hand and it seems like it will last much longer than the old rubbish type, (built to fail), Official Xbox One Controllers. - (However, they do look similar to the older type and operate the same but the build quality is better). With all of the previous, (Microsoft Supplied), Xbox One Wireless Controllers the build qualty was very extreemly poor. - To us: this extreemly poor build quality was evident in fact that none of them lasted very long and they all felt cheap in the hand. Let's face it; for years Xbox One Wireless Controllers appeared to be designed to fail while the Sony Wireless Controllers had a much better build quality and the Sony ones lasted and lasted. Just by the weight and the feel the build quality of this new type of Xbox One Wireless Controller seams to be very similar to the Sony Wireless Controllers and we suspect that Microsoft have started to use the same manufacturer as Sony for these devices and If so, it's about time !

Product Review: Xbox Wireless Controller – Carbon Black
The Xbox Wireless Controller in Carbon Black is a sleek and refined iteration of a classic design, maintaining the high standards set by its predecessors while introducing subtle improvements that enhance the overall gaming experience. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or new to the Xbox ecosystem, this controller offers comfort, precision, and reliability that make it a must-have for any Xbox or PC gamer. Design and Build Quality The Carbon Black finish gives the controller a modern, understated look that will appeal to those who prefer a minimalist aesthetic. The matte black surface feels smooth and comfortable in hand, with textured grips on the back that provide added control during intense gaming sessions. The controller's build quality is excellent, with a sturdy construction that feels durable and well-made. The buttons, triggers, and thumbsticks are all responsive, offering satisfying feedback that enhances gameplay. Comfort and Ergonomics One of the standout features of the Xbox Wireless Controller has always been its ergonomic design, and the Carbon Black model is no exception. The controller fits naturally in the hands, with well-placed buttons and triggers that are easy to reach without straining. The slightly smaller size compared to previous generations makes it more accessible to a wider range of hand sizes while still feeling substantial enough for extended gaming sessions. The textured grips and d-pad improvements make long-term use more comfortable and precise. Performance and Responsiveness Performance is where the Xbox Wireless Controller truly shines. The thumbsticks offer smooth, accurate movement with just the right amount of resistance, making it easy to aim and navigate in-game. The triggers are responsive, with a pleasing amount of tension that adds to the immersive experience, particularly in racing or shooting games. The redesigned d-pad is a significant improvement, offering a more tactile and accurate feel, which is especially noticeable in fighting games or when navigating menus. Connectivity and Compatibility The Xbox Wireless Controller connects seamlessly to Xbox consoles via wireless technology, with a quick and stable connection that ensures minimal input lag. It also pairs effortlessly with Windows PCs, Android devices, and even iOS devices via Bluetooth, making it a versatile option for gamers who play across multiple platforms. The setup process is straightforward, and switching between devices is quick and easy. Battery Life and Charging The controller is powered by AA batteries, which might be seen as a downside for some users who prefer a built-in rechargeable battery. However, the upside is that you can easily swap out batteries during long gaming sessions without waiting for a recharge. Alternatively, you can purchase a rechargeable battery pack separately if you prefer a more sustainable option. The battery life is impressive, offering many hours of playtime on a single set of batteries. Value for Money Given its quality, performance, and compatibility across multiple platforms, the Xbox Wireless Controller – Carbon Black represents excellent value for money. It is competitively priced and offers features and build quality that justify its cost, making it a smart investment for gamers who want a reliable and high-performing controller. Conclusion The Xbox Wireless Controller – Carbon Black is a well-rounded and refined piece of gaming hardware that lives up to the high standards set by its predecessors. Its combination of comfort, performance, and versatility makes it a top choice for both Xbox and PC gamers. Whether you're playing the latest AAA titles or revisiting classic games, this controller delivers a responsive and immersive experience that enhances your gaming sessions. Rating: 4.8/5

Not repairable, has a lifespan
Lasted 3 years before drift made it useless. I tried to fix it but you'd need good electrical repair tools to stand a chance. Consider it unrepairable. It worked well for three years running all kinds of games on all kinds of machines. Pretty upset that it broke, won't buy another unless they come with hall effect sticks.

Xbox official. Works first time
Bought to replace a controller that was experiencing connectivity issues. Not much more to say apart from it was Xbox official so worked right out of the box. And its still going strong now.
