Is this only for thicker fabric and leather? Will they come off easily if I use on a thinner piece of fabric?

I’d recommend using >2mm thick pieces of fabric. Anything less thick makes the snaps very loose and will not set in place causing it to easily come off. Hope that helps!

Can you use the tools for plastic kam snaps ?

I would not recommend it. There is a tool specific tool for plastic snaps.
