My boyfriend is using it to hold his collectible items and we were able to put it up high enough to keep kids and dogs from grabbing things from it. So far no cons to note. It is very beautiful and exactly what I was looking for. I might be a second one.

A: Thank you for your interest in this item.  This item does not stand on the floor by it shelf, it needs to be hung.

**Q: Would a pair of shoes fit on 1 shelf?**
A: The shelf depth is 6.5 inches, the length is 11.75 inches. It all depends on the size of your shoes and in what direction you want to place them.

**Q: Could it fit a pair of size 8 women’s Jordan’s on each shelf? ( 2 shoes per shelf)**
A: I don’t think so. We put designer purses on ours.

I wasn’t sure how much space would be available for the shelf. It came with an extra shelf that you can attach to the bottom.
