I've owned many backscratchers in my life. Some were great, others not so much. So I know backscratchers. This item should be called The Everything Scratcher Plus. Not just merely a back scratcher. Because it can be used to scratch anything with minimum effort. If you have an itch down there or back around there, and can't be bothered reaching for it, just use this handy dandy everything scratcher. It's a scratcher that doesn't scratch in the bad way. Only in the good way. The Plus feature allows you to swat a fly or spider with it as well, or hands reaching for the cookie jar, or someone trying to touch your TV remote. Or someone trying to touch you when you're not interested. It's made of sturdy bamboo from where bamboo is grown. The other end looks something like a hand. More or less. But this item is not meant to replace a person backscratcher, just supplement them due to their extremely limited availability. It's so versatile I can't wait to find out what else it can do. And you thought it was just a stick with fake fingers. It's The Everything Scratcher Plus. Everybody and their mother should buy this.

The back scratcher is very sturdy/strong and well made. It has a ribbon attached to the end for hanging. The bamboo wood has nice color variations on the front and back. It has a lacquer finish to protect the hand and easy cleaning. However, I noticed that the lacquer finish stops in the front just below the fingers about an inch. The wood is carved out in that area and it appears to me that the maker did not intend to lacquer that one spot. If you do touch that area, it feels a little rough but smoothed out enough that it will not cause a splinter. The back scratcher measures 17 1/2 inches long and my husband and I have no problems with this length - it gets the job done! I would recommend this back scratcher to friends and family.

Bought 2 for Christmas gifts. My little niece is 9 always asking for mine when she spends the night, so I got her and her olde sister one. They loved them.

I confess it was with some trepidation that I bought this back scratcher. Some other makes on Amazon had been criticised by users for being 'flimsy' or being so poorly finished that users suffered bamboo splinters! I am happy to aver that the GranNaturals Bamboo Back Scratcher is sturdy in construction and has been finished with a varnish to minimise the likelihood of splinters. I am pleased with my choice.

Hard to go wrong with something this simple. The width may be a bit much for smaller hands. Works well enough.
