Featuring an adjustable length from 25.75 to 47.5 inches and a childproof anti-lift lock, it mounts securely with screws at arm height to provide a strong visual and physical deterrent against break-ins. Its innovative design allows partial door opening for ventilation without sacrificing safety, making it a trusted choice for millennial professionals seeking reliable, easy-to-use home security. ## Description Product Description Add safety, security, and a visual deterrent to your sliding patio door with Ideal Security’s sliding patio door security bar. This adjustable security bar is designed to be mounted in the middle of the patio door. Simply fasten the bracket at the end of the bar to your door frame, and the bar will pivot up or down so you can easily block and unblock your door, and will stay out of the way when not required. Because the bar is mounted at arm height, you won’t have to bend down every time you want to open the door. Most importantly, mounting the bar in the middle of the door adds a visual deterrent, making the bar clearly visible to potential intruders who won’t even bother trying. The inside bar slides into the outside bar when adjusting, and easy adjustability means your sliding patio door can be partially opened for ventilation and still be secured. The locking clip that prevents the slider to open can stay in place to allow you to just raise the bar. If you place the bar about the midway point on an eight foot door you have to collapse the bar because it will be too long to clear the top of the door. **Q: We have an old sliding glass door which slides open on an outside track. Can this bar work on this type of door?** A: Whoever installed your sliding door either installed it backwards or installed the wrong door in the first place. You might be able to fix it yourself if the door panels can be switched, remove both doors and place the NON/FIXED door on the outer track and move the sliding door to the inner track. **Q: If this security bar is in use, how easily is it "unlocked" in case of emergency, e.g., fire? Is it difficult or time-consuming to disengage?** A: It would take less than 1 second to disengage this lock, this lock will not slow you down in an emergency. This lock is a great feature to any sliding patio door. We have installed one on our last two homes. **Q: The description says it automatically locks. How? I purchased and installed this and can't figure out how to make it lock automatically.** A: Yeah, saying it locks is a bit misleading. I'm sure what they mean is that once the bar is in place the door can't be opened, so it's locked without actually locking the door. ## Frequently Bought Together - Ideal Security Sliding Door Security Bar with Childproof Lock, Adjustable, for Patio Doors and Sliding Glass Doors (25.75-47.5 Inches) - Prime-Line U 9847 Patio Sliding Door Loop Lock – Increase Home Security, Install Additional Child-Safe Security, 2-1/8 In.
