My laptop started running really hot.... I realized it was the battery because the computer was only burning up when powered on, and plugged in. Just battery, no problem. Plugged in but off, no problem. But the battery, fully charged would only last about 45 minutes. I checked the original manufacturer and their replacement battery, while very fine, I am sure was really expensive compared to the offerings on Amazon. I bought one, it took me about 20 minutes to swap them out, and now my laptop runs good as new. Look for installation guidance from You Tube, not the manufacturer... almost nothing there. Anyway, a very satisfying purchase.

Was a little concerned hen I first opened the box. The shape of this battery was different than what was in the laptop. However, after checking the connection location, and overall dimensions, I see that this battery has a bit of an "L" shaped cross section, which is where the extra cells are. The "L" acts like legs, holding the laptop more off the lap/desk,making the air flow situation better. I've had some issues with leaving battery plugged in and charging while leaving the laptop running (using it like a desktop computer.) It tends to kill batteries quickly. The instructions that came with this battery were explicit: DISCHARGE the battery on first use down to 2%, and then recharge to full charge. I've never done that before, but will try to do that this time, ad see f that helps extend the life of the battery. TIP: As a test, I tried putting a really old battery back in the laptop, and it started charging it again, but would only get to about 78%. So, don't toss your old laptop batteries. Swap them out if they stop charging. The error was, "Plugged in NOT CHARGING" 0% available. << previous problem, not an issue with this new battery. So, save your old batteries, they will help give you some battery life in a situation where you need it. I'm very happy with this new replacement, and knowing that 7200 mAh is a lot better than 5400 or 5200 mAh is worth the slight extra cost. Would buy this battery again, and I appreciate the engineering that went into making this design so good.

I bought this 87Wh/7800mAh replacement battery for my old Asus laptop, and it worked great. I bought a M5Y1K Laptop Battery 10.6 inch replacement for a Dell laptop. They claim it is a 40Wk battery, as stated and on the battery itself. Instructions state to let it drain to 2%, Not 0%, on the first use, then charge it to 100%. It came drained to 0%. I let it charge anyway, then checked the capacity through a battery report. The design capacity is 41,440 mWh, but the actual "full charge capacity" is 29,600 mWh. I returned it and ordered another. Same Exact results. A new battery should have the same or at least close to the same design and actual full charge capacity. I returned it again. I'm ordering from somewhere else. It's obviously manufactured that way. Ironic they have a picture claiming their batteries have the full advertised capacity while their competitors do not!

Perfect fit and and finish. This an externally changeable battery (old school) and easy to change. No tools required. As with every laptop battery follow the recommend procedure for initial charge and conditioning. This was in stock at our local warehouse and was delivered the next day. Been holding its charge well and performing great.
