This is excellent, if a little pricey! I prefer to buy full loaves from the supermarket, rather than pre-sliced & packaged bread (which always has too many preservatives) I had a cheap plastic slicing guide for a while, but it wasm too wide & didn't have the back plate to contain the loaf ~ also because it has different width settings, it allows you to slice a variety of loaves. Both theses elements closed the deal for me, even though it is more expensive than others listed! I am happy to report it works perfectly!!

Ideal for cutting my homemade bread. Easy to store in cupboard and no cut marks on the wood. My plastic one left cut marks. Would recommend.

Decent bread slicer, although I didn’t expect the guides to be plywood. One side is very much tighter than the other - enough that it’s actually difficult to force it into the slot. Hoping that it will shave itself down with use. Trying to force it in makes me feel like I’ll eventually break it.
