Super easy
Needed tool for the pond. Hadn't tested water for a while and needed this kit to understand if the water was the cause of a butterfly koi floater. Nitrates were probably the cause as reflected in the tester panel. Did a large water change and mitigated the issue for now. The only issue I have is that it would be nice to have a what to do pamplet for out of range values. But Since there are different and arguable solutions organic and chemical I understand why they leave that to the user. The boxed normal readings otherwise initiate an action if needed. The pads do not retain their color as expected so it's important to log each value over time.

Super easy to use, helping me balance my new fish pond.
Bought these to get a good understanding of pH, nitrates, alkalinity, etc for a pond I recently built and am adding goldfish and koi. I have not taken a pond sample to a lab to compare accuracy of what I'm seeing on the strips but I assume they're accurate (or at least in the ballpark). Two seconds in the water and 30 seconds to read the result has really helped me understand what treatment I needed to add to get pH and Total Hardness down a bit.

Aren't accurate on alkalinity and PH.
This is my second purchase of these strips for my koi pond. I haven't found another brand says it's for garden/fish/koi ponds. Not sure if freshwater test strips would work. When comparing these strips and the manual tests (add water to vial and then add testing drops), the alkalinity is WAY off. The strip shows alkalinity as 40ppm and manual tests show 160ppm The PH is also off... but not as much as alkalinity. PH with trips show PH as 6.0, manual test shows PH is 7.5. So, if you buy these, you will need to do different tests for alkalinity and. ph. They are useful good for a quick daily check of water stability, if you know to adjust for the ph and alkalinity inaccuracy.
