They feel comfortable, and make it easy for swinging the rope. The foam may pick up dirt if you lay the rope down in a dusty spot, so be careful.The rope has a “Metal” spring which center’s it’s self each time you swing the rope. When the spring hits the ground it prevents the rope from scraping itself against the surface, thus preventing the rope from wearing-out. This is a great feature; I wish more jump ropes had this attribute!The rope itself is kinked when it comes out of the package, but this is par for the course with most jump ropes. Hang the rope when not in use and it will straighten out in time. As you swing the jump rope it will straighten itself out.There are faster ropes out there, but you will pay a minimum of 3 times as much. Unless you're a jump rope athlete who has already developed a preference for some other brand or style of rope, this rope will serve you well. ### ⭐⭐ Junk... I am giving it two stars because they did replace the first one that broke for free under the lifetime warranty. The second one broke the next day same place. The plastic cord cannot take any kind of speed jumping. It fatigues the cord at the bend and it fails. They would probably replace it again but with the same crap plastic cord.To repair this and make it a true life time rope. Buy 30 feet of 6mm climbing accessory rope. Drill the ends out of both handles. Pull the old busted end out and pull remaining long plastic line out of the other handle. Run the rope through and heat the ends of the rope. Smash the melting end to make a mushroom shape on end. Wait til cooled and pull in to the bearing in the handle.
