Works perfectly!
Using Google Voice for my business was difficult with just a mic and speaker... NOW... it is so much better...Highly recommended and it easily hangs up beside my computer on the wall. It's a great companion to a very cheap business number.

Great alternative to a headset!
I do not spend all day on the phone. I only take calls every hour or so. So, when the company took away our landline phones and switched us to Skype to save money, and the only thing they offered was a headset, I was not happy at all. I have single-sided deafness, so a traditional phone handset was perfect for me. It blocks out the background noise, but then - because it is simple to set it down (as opposed to taking off a headset), it doesn't impede my hearing in my good ear while not on a call. I was very happy to find this product, and it works great for my needs. In fact, I already ordered a second one for my coworker who also hates using a headset. The one thing I don't like is that it seems to take over all computer sounds. So, for instance, I can't hear the ringtone for an incoming call, but have to rely only on the pop-up notification.

Old school
I sort of got this as a joke. It is just a USB headset in a funny wrapper. It worked with all the systems I plugged it into, and worked with a variety of software. I would give it more stars if it had a pickup/hangup button. I don't need volume controls, or anything else fancy, but being able to grab the handset and answer a VoIP/SIP call would be great. So I mostly stick to my headset and just use this for fun. I work with a guy who hates headsets and he is supposedly buying one for himself.

Overall it's a great phone!
I really like this phone!! Got it to use for work at home & in office. Been using it for a few weeks and it's great! There are two things I wish were different, to make it better, in my opinion, and that's to have a mute button. And also to have the material, at least the ear piece area, be a tad softer. Not too much, just so it's not such a hard piece of plastic against your ear. Maybe a soft latex-style material of some kind?? Otherwise, overall, I really like this receiver! Plug in & good to go! The sound is great; I don't have to turn it up like on my headset! My shoulder piece fits perfect on it & it stays in place when I speak. It's so much better than that darn headset! Thank you!!! Super satisfied!!

3 out of 3 Failed
Not wanting to wear headsets that go with a new Skype-based phone system at work, I was looking for what turns out to be a hard to find item: a simple USB handset that works. At the time (about 2 months ago), I'm nearly certain this model did not show on Amazon, so I bought from a vendor/manufacturer in Germany. Two of the units failed within a week, or two. Mine made it until today when it, too, seems to have fried. I saw this item now listed on Amazon as I began my search for another version and wanted to warn folks to pass on it.

Great Little Gadget!
Great little handset for those who despise headsets. My work went to zoom phones and as I can't wear headsets, I ordered this which arrived 5 days early. Just plug it in and away you go. Lightweight and easy to use. Just like using a real phone.

Great value for the money, easy to use, very lightweight
I highly recommend this option if you don't like headphones and want to keep it simple without a lot of bells and whistles for features! I work as a telephone interviewer and was tired of headaches from wearing headsets. This was ready to go, out of the box. All I had to do was plug it into a USB port on my work PC, and the sound came through very well, once the drivers automatically downloaded and I made the audio settings adjustments on m softcall program. There are no audio controls on this retro handset, but it's really no problem, as I control all sound through the computer on a softcall program. I'd say the sound quality is very acceptable about 90 percent of the time, but occasionally in the middle of an interview, I'll get a crackling sound and I can't hear the person I've called, or they can't hear me. When I've disconnected and called back, that usually takes care of the problem. It may not be the handset because it could be my Internet or the softcall program, so I can't say for sure what causes the problem. It's infrequent enough not to be a significant concern. I usually do a sound check just before each work shift, and occasionally that same crackling sound will come through and cause blips in my test recording. Unplugging the cable from the USB port and plugging it back into a port (I usually choose a different port) seems to take care of the problem. I want to add that I thought I'd need to get the classic shoulder rest pad to stick on the handset, but the handset is so lightweight that I can balance it easily on my shoulder while I talk. It tends to stay in place between my face and my shoulder.
